We stayed at this hotel for a night stay ready for our polar express day at the nearby churnet railway station, we had an absolutely lovely time at this hotel friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is absolutely lovely and the rooms are clean and tidy and very comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the service was brilliant. It was empty in the lead up to Christmas, so breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet style. Was surprised that guests were put next door to each other rather than spread out so heard the odd bit of corridor noise. We normally stay in the cheapest Premier Inn/Travelodge type hotel when in the area, but enjoyed the lobby space more than I thought and was worth paying that little bit more for.

Booked for a couple of nights while visiting alton towers and found the place superb value. Food in restaurant good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Also didn't add breakfast at the time of booking and when we asked to add for the 2 days when checking in the receptionist added for no extra charge. Would definitely and will be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else visiting the area.

Fantastic stay and facilities, we thoroughly enjoyed out little hideaway. This place is a hidden gem and we definitely will be back. Only downfalls are the fact that it isn't advertised so well as this property has huge potential, gym is a little on the small side and it most definitely could do with a onsite restaurant for gain revenue for the place to maximise the income but it didnt effect our stay as we had all the facilities we needed in our lodge and planned on going out anyhow.
