Huge apartment miles from anywhere

Posted 26-May-2016
This is a strange place. We were upgraded to a large one bedtimes soar tent with great views of the river. It should have been lovely. But the apartment was chilly and soulless, the bed extremely uncomfortable, and as it was in a modern block partly occupied by full time tenants it felt very strange. Service was patchy with some people pleasant but others surly and rude. It's also a good 20 minute walk to the area of BYtersea with shops and restaurants and it took 40 minutes the next morning to get to Vauxhall (about 3 miles away).

Pleasant hotel not 5 star

Posted 15-May-2016
Pros: The room upgrade.
Cons: Provide shower gel.
Location: A bit of a challenge to get to on public transport and nothing to do in the immediate area.
We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade on arrival. The Amazon suite was spacious and well appointed. Disappointed the view from our room was of the hotel entrance. The other gripe for this standard of hotel was no shower gel offered and only shampoo and soaps bolted to the wall. The hotel lobby was quite chic and there are great views of the river from the decking area on the 3rd floor although the helicopter pad next door is a little bit annoying if you were trying to chill out. Overall for one night it was pleasant and we had a thoroughly good weekend.

Lovely hotel with Spa but not river view room

Posted 07-May-2016
Nice hotel and room, however, Expedia advertised water view room which did not transpire. The heating/air conditioning system did not operate in our room so had to call reception each time to have temperature altered. Nice spa facilities with jacuzzi.

Amazing suite - but a flawed 5-star experience

Posted 22-Feb-2016 on Hotels
This review is based on the hotel being worthy of 5 stars. Arrived at 3pm to be told to wait because our room wasn't ready even though check-in was 2pm. Left sitting around for 20 mins even though management knew we were on a tight schedule. The Emperor Suite we'd booked was incredible: large room, fantastic view of the Thames, very comfortable bed, large spa bath, rain shower, huge TV. But not a single instruction on how to operate the spa bath, the safe (which was locked), or the lighting system. Also surprised to see a hole in the carpet and the shower gel/body lotion containers in the wrong places (you need shower gel in the shower not next to the sink!). Breakfast was a definite disappointment. The room was shabby from the chipped paint on the window sills and chair backs to the badly worn floor. The buffet was poor with little choice: no plates of cheeses, just babybel and rectangular cheeses in plastic packs. One plate of assorted dried-out meats. No small Danish pastries, just the huge ones you get from a local Greggs. Definitely not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. I've seen better in a Travelodge. On leaving I was asked whether our stay had been a good one. I started to explain a few of the issues but the deskman really wasn't interested.

Great hotel, highly recommended

Posted 13-Feb-2016 on Hotels
This hotel is situated right on the banks of the Thames. It's modern, spacious and well appointed. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to be helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and made for a pleasant and comfortable stay. There's not much happening on the doorstep but a short taxi ride or 20 minute walk gets you into Battersea.

The hotel is lovely overall. The only negative is that the view is not great - our room was on the wrong side of the hotel and too low a level. However the restaurant has wonderful views so that made up for it. Everything else was great and enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
