Nice hotel but .....

Posted 11-Jul-2016
Only stayed here for one night. Initial thoughts lovely hotel welcoming staff and modern interior. However the room while clean overlooked the back of the hotel the view wasn't good. The lighting was very dim dreadful for women trying to apply makeup. The air con was loud so had to turn it off but then we could hear the noise from outside and lastly we could hear what the couple in the next room were doing !!!!!!

A very nice hotel with very helpful and friendly staff just a few cosmetic things that caught my eye such as, plug sockets not being straight, wallpaper not being linned properly and marks on the wall but overall my room was lovely. Myself and my friend stayed at the same time so we got to see each others rooms and the only thing that was different is she got two pairs of slippers in her room and I didn't have any but something very minor.

Somewhere to sleep for a lot of money!!

Posted 11-Jun-2016
Staff are completely rude with no one in charge or passing off to each other with no actual outcome.. I had staff blame myself & my partner for their mistake on room service 3 times!! Not many English speaking staff to help, whether this was just the 2 days we had stayed I'm not sure if this just fell on our stay or not..

Huge apartment miles from anywhere

Posted 26-May-2016
This is a strange place. We were upgraded to a large one bedtimes soar tent with great views of the river. It should have been lovely. But the apartment was chilly and soulless, the bed extremely uncomfortable, and as it was in a modern block partly occupied by full time tenants it felt very strange. Service was patchy with some people pleasant but others surly and rude. It's also a good 20 minute walk to the area of BYtersea with shops and restaurants and it took 40 minutes the next morning to get to Vauxhall (about 3 miles away).

Pleasant hotel not 5 star

Posted 15-May-2016
Pros: The room upgrade.
Cons: Provide shower gel.
Location: A bit of a challenge to get to on public transport and nothing to do in the immediate area.
We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade on arrival. The Amazon suite was spacious and well appointed. Disappointed the view from our room was of the hotel entrance. The other gripe for this standard of hotel was no shower gel offered and only shampoo and soaps bolted to the wall. The hotel lobby was quite chic and there are great views of the river from the decking area on the 3rd floor although the helicopter pad next door is a little bit annoying if you were trying to chill out. Overall for one night it was pleasant and we had a thoroughly good weekend.

Lovely hotel with Spa but not river view room

Posted 07-May-2016
Nice hotel and room, however, Expedia advertised water view room which did not transpire. The heating/air conditioning system did not operate in our room so had to call reception each time to have temperature altered. Nice spa facilities with jacuzzi.

One Night Business Trip To London

Posted 28-Apr-2016 on Hotels
This was my first stay in The Rafayel on the Left Bank (I usually stay in Hampstead). The room rate on Hotels.com caught my attention so I decided to try this hotel. The hotel was exceptional (esp.for the price). Somewhat contemporary in design and style, yet it wasn't lacking in atmosphere. The room was modern - yet elegant, very clean, just about right in size and had all the usual and necessary fittings (iron etc.). The room also had a mini bar with reasonable prices. The bathroom was very clean and had a very luxurious 'walk in' style shower with ceiling mounted 'rain water' style shower head and multiple wall mounted shower heads. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was not being close to a Tube station. **TIP: ask the staff to ring a taxi as the private hire taxi was much cheaper than the 'black cabs'! I didn't have time to try the pool etc. Overall this was a very pleasant stay in a stunning hotel. Kudos to the management and staff. 10 out of 10. I will definitely be going back.
