"I found the hotel was very handy with the 24 hour desk especially as flight was delayed and missed the last train to Lucca and had to get a taxi. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and airy. Would highly recommend"

"If you're looking for a place to stay to explore Lucca, this is an excellent choice. A clean and comfortable place just a 5 minutes walk from The Wall and great price. Be sure to confirm that breakfast is included at this B&B - ours was not."

"We enjoyed our stay very much and in particular appreciated all the help we received from the receptionists and Vanessa in the bar. Lovely pool area and very good breakfast. It is necessary to have your own transport. "

Had a fabulous stay. The room was large and very clean. The staff were friendly especially the receptionist. We enjoyed the restaurant that had local choices and I can recommend finishing with the sweet wine and homemade biscotti! Lucca is a wonderful town and very easy to get to from the hotel. We spent the morning in town and the afternoon by the hotel pool. Perfect!

We stayed in room 9. We loved the unusual decor, cleanliness, the friendly staff, the good size of shower (not being the thinest of people), the air conditioning that worked really well, breakfast and the drinks and bits to eat in the basement dining room availability 24 hours per day. It also has a car park which was a worry if it did not have one.
The only issue we had was the place has no lift which meant we had to leave our large suitcase in the car.

The property is reaslly nice with large spacious rooms. The hotel is located in a very peaceful remote location with stunning views. The pool was really nice, but could do with some heating and it would be nice if there was a small fitness centre on-site. There was a limited lunch menu based on being so remote. Dinner was great, but a very small restaurant. The couple managing the hotel were really friendly

We visited the San Luca Palace in September. The rooms are magnificent. Clean and spacious. The hotel is very close to the town centre (about a 5 minute walk to the Duomo).
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and the staff calm and attentive.
There is also a very good restaurant about 3 doors down from the hotel.
Can’t recommend highly enough!

My son and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night out the 3 on our visit to Tuscany as we were flying out of Pisa the following morning. The hotel has a good mix of old and new furnishings and décor. Fabulous bathrooms though a wee bit small. Just the right amount of choice at breakfast in a pleasant conservatory. Also a very spacious terrace for sitting out or relaxing on a sun lounger with a drink from the bar service at reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would like to return in the...

We stayed here for one night and were very pleased with the room which was in the older building a few steps away. Lovely large comfortable room. All staff were helpful and friendly. Happy to arrange taxis or dinner for you. The coffee and snacks provided in the reception area were a welcome treat as was the complementary fizz served at 5 pm!. If I’m the area again would stay here!

We have stayed at this hotel on various occasions over the past 3 years and have always been really pleased. The hotel is the perfect base from which to explore this part of Tuscany or as a staging post following a late arrival / early departure flight from Pisa. It is situated virtually midway between Pisa and Lucca (about 15 minutes to both) and very easy to find especially from Pisa airport (see hotel web site) A family run hotel with ample free parking, the staff are always welcoming,...

This was my 2nd stay here. The location was perfect : a quiet part of the city, within the walls, so all the main attractions were close by. The staff were very friendly and and would do anything to help to make the stay a good one. They also spoke English, which was a bonus. I would definitely use this hotel again.

We wanted a quiet hotel away from the city but close to the airport.( 14 km) This was ideal a hidden gem. Beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast. They don't do evening meals but there are plenty of options within a 10 mins drive. It is very rural area. Seems popular with Italian film stars for some reason given the photos in the reception office.

What is the best area to stay in San Leonardo In Treponzio?
The best area to stay in San Leonardo In Treponzio for a quintessential Tuscan experience is within the village itself or the immediate surrounding countryside.
The village of San Leonardo In Treponzio is a small, traditional Tuscan hamlet. It's characterised by its historic stone buildings, a central church, and narrow, winding streets. You'll find a few local shops and trattorias here, offering a genuine taste of rural Italian life. The pace is relaxed, making it ideal for those wanting to unwind.
Couples looking for a romantic escape will find the countryside immediately surrounding San Leonardo In Treponzio particularly appealing. Many villas and agriturismi (farm stays) are located among olive groves and vineyards, offering privacy, stunning views, and often amenities like private pools. These properties provide a tranquil base for exploring the region's culinary delights and picturesque landscapes.
Families might prefer staying in a villa or a larger agriturismo slightly outside the village centre. These properties often come with more space, gardens for children to play in, and sometimes even cooking facilities, allowing for a more self-sufficient holiday.
When is the best time to go to San Leonardo In Treponzio?
The best time to visit San Leonardo In Treponzio for pleasant weather and fewer crowds is during the shoulder seasons of late spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October).
During these months, the Tuscan countryside is at its most beautiful, with blooming wildflowers in spring and the grape harvest in autumn. The temperatures are mild and comfortable, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the region's vineyards, olive groves, and historic towns. You'll find fewer tourists compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions and local restaurants.
Couples looking for a romantic escape will particularly enjoy these times. The gentle weather is superb for leisurely walks through the rolling hills, wine tasting tours at local estates, and al fresco dining under the stars. Many local festivals celebrating food and wine also take place in early autumn, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience local culture.
For those who prefer warmer weather and don't mind more people, the summer months of June to August offer long, sunny days. However, temperatures can reach over 30°C, and popular sites will be busier.
