The ramen place next door (Shinano) has excellent Hakodate shio ramen but be warned, they sell out quickly so be ready to line up just before opening hours. Very clean rooms and decently spacious by Japanese standards. The cleaning crew were excellent and really took care to make sure the place was spotless. Great amenities - the hotel provides pyjamas which they change for you every night, and there is a section at reception for further amenities that aren't in your room (e.g. razors, tea bags). Washing machines are available on the ground floor for ¥600 per use (includes soap). Just be warned for anyone with accessibility issues, that the bathroom is elevated above the room level and can be a trip hazard when trying to come back out. You also have to climb into the bathtub to shower.
