My first time staying here and I was very impressed, the venue itself is beautiful, the whole place including the grounds were very clean and tidy, the decor of the place was lovely and very imaginative. My room was fantastic, very large, clean and had all the facilities. Dinner and breakfast were just perfect. I cant fault the place in any way, the staff were all very polite, perfect.

I booked this hotel at very short notice, due to visiting the area as a surprise to see my daughter. On arrival the whole building was spotless, and after a short wait, I was greeted by the proprietor. What an amazing Place. Amazing Hosts. Beautiful Scenery and Loads of horses around the property which my children loved. Elsa and her husband were incredible and so welcoming and genuinely nice people and checked wverything was OK for us and left us enjoy our time. A little off the beaten track but accommodation was excellent. All staff were friendly and courteous. Room was spacious with a great shower. Pub below/next door had a good selection of real ales.

Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Gorgeous room and bathroom, great friendly staff and good food. Very good value. Train station right across the road. Would definitely stay again.

We couldn't fault this - from the welcome, through a comfortable sleep to a friendly great breakfast. Lovely place, well-run, perfectly clean, and very friendly. The views from the rooms are extensive, yet it's a short walk to a very acceptable pub with good beer and meals. Definitely one to go back to.

Great staff, fab location

We stayed two nights at the Bear in September and enjoyed it immensely. This is a ancient Coaching Inn and so layout is a little quirky. But the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. Large four poster bed, comfortable armchair, sufficient hanging space, a well appointed en suite and tea making facilities, made for a great stay. Breakfast was individually made and well cooked. We also are in the bar late on Sunday and the roast (topside of beef and all trimmings) was outstanding....

This B&B/restaurant is fantastic and I can not fault it at all! The rooms are spacious, clean,warm and comfortable with plenty of free tea/coffee. Andy who initially greeted me was pleasant and helpful, as I left before breakfast was served the following day he arranged for a packed breakfast to be made for me! this has not happened for me before at other hotels.
