Barry, and the area that immediately surrounds it, offers a wide range of hotels, guesthouses, farm houses and self-catering accommodation. From the luxury hotel set in unspoilt countryside to cheap but cheerful hotels from which you can almost touch the sea spray from, there is something for everyone.
If you are looking to be in the heart of the seaside action, and you want fast access to the beach, you will find a cluster of hotels around Porthkerry Road that should suit. They are family friendly, reasonably priced and of a very good standard for their reasonable prices.
There is a good mix of independent hotels and chain hotels available close to the seaside, as well as guesthouses, bed and breakfasts and self-catering. However you want to enjoy your stay in Barry you can always make sure you can be the first on the beach in the morning.
Moving away from the pleasures of the beach can be hard to do but, if you choose to, it will take you to a selection of
hotelswhose emphasis is more firmly on luxury and creature comforts. These are often located in picturesque settings, created from converted stately homes or there is even the option of staying in a delightful seventeenth century farmhouse secreted away from it all on a working farm.
By moving away from the seafront delights you can find all you need for a more refined appreciation of the beauty that Barry can offer, and you are more likely to enjoy a more serene break away from the families with younger children.
A quick search four or five miles outside the centre of Barry should reveal another side of Barry to you, and you can appreciate it all from within either a grand manor house or a grandly designed modern hotel. Safely ensconced you’ll be able to enjoy the tranquil settings, kick back and just relax.
Of course, with Cardiff literally next door you can always extend your search a little wider and try to take in some of the hotels that Barry’s neighbouring capital has to offer. You still will be in striking distance of Barry and you’ll also be able to take advantage of the bright lights of the big city too.
There are several hotels located right next to Barry’s closest airport (Cardiff) that are ideally suited if you want to be able to take in Barry but make a quick getaway by road, rail or plane the next day.
The airport itself is less than a ten minute drive from Barry so you can easily get there for the day before you move on the next.
But surely Barry deserves more than just a day of your time?
