Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel & Spa

Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good
"The hotels.com listing is incorrect firstly - there is only one pool and the parking costs £15. A message was received 2 days ahead of our stay confirming the £10 cost of parking, one day later another email through hotels.com from the hotel stating £15. On enquiring, a fairly unconsidered message back that a direct booking would’ve incurred no parking costs. Hotel fine, but tired in places and a real conference feeling but staff were good and the breakfast host was exceptional. Good location for walking to the beach (around 10 min) and the pool was a perfect temperature. Room with two additional beds felt cramped with the table and chairs left in, would’ve preferred additional furniture was removed to make movement around the room and to the bathroom possible."

"I imagine this hotel is wonderful in the Summer but it was absolutely freezing, the heating wasn't even turned on in the building, there was no extra blanket or duvet in the room provided. When I told reception the next day I got blamed for not saying beforehand but wasn't told that customer service was 24/7 when I checked in? Other than that breakfast was average, room was clean bathroom tiny"

"Lovely hotel with great staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We stayed in the cottage’s which were better then we expected. They had nice views of the beach, pier and gardens. The swimming pool was a good size, warm and clean. Breakfast was varied and good quality. Room service was excellent and the staff were helpful bringing it in. Only downside was no dressing gowns in our room which would have been helpful to go to the pool but overall a great stay."

"Great breakfast, can’t complain about the food quality and how it is refreshed regularly, staff very attentive and friendly. Room clean and comfortable. Would stay again if in the area. Only downside is the pedestrian access to leave the hotel and get to the town centre as the pavement ends around the corner and you walk across the road to a cinder path into the bus terminal, it’s like the hotel is isolated from town( a very American feel)."

Haven Hotel

8/10 Good
"The cleaning staff for our room were very efficient, we also had a lovely swan towel arrangement in our room for our anniversary, unfortunately the hotel staff did not remember to have the bubbly waiting in our room that my husband had organised, but they brought it up promptly after my husband reminded them. Our room was a lovely size and a wonderful view from the balcony. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety and I was able to order poached eggs. The evening meal was not so good, our order came late, my potato was cold, the starters were microscopic and on the whole, not good value for the money."
