The Frampton Arms

The Frampton Arms

8/10 Good
"From checking to check out the staff were very friendly and helpful when required. The room was a good size and the air conditioning brilliant in what was a very warm evening/night. I sometime struggle with hotel beds but this was very comfortable and pillows good quality. I had dinner in the pub in the evening which was a very large Frampton burger. Unfortunately the continental breakfast was mainly left untouched as the pastries and fruit were left uncovered and too many flies in the restaurant/bar area."

The Smugglers Inn

The Smugglers Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Nice pub accommodation close to the sea. The rooms are above the pub, so expect noise until after closing time. It's a large pub for tourists, so it can get busy, yet despite the young front of house team, this place runs like clockwork - I was very impressed with how well organised they were. The full English breakfast was excellent. We parked in the pub's car park at 18:30, taking one of the last spaces, but left and came back around 9pm and parked without any issue. The rooms are comfortable - great bathroom with good toiletries, comfy bed, fan provided for those balmy Dorset summer evenings. Curiously, the bedroom door cannot be locked from the inside - this needs to be changed. All round, very happy with this stay and would recommend."

"Small room, very basic. Shower ok, but door was broken, kept coming off rails. Toilet door wouldn't shut, and lock broken. Breakfast was ok, but could take quite a while, to come out, some days. Only bread option was sourdough, with a tough hard crust, a bit nerve-racking for people with false teeth / plates. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice bar, with plenty of choices. Ample parking."

Delightful thatched cottage in beautiful sleepy Dorset village and countryside

Delightful thatched cottage in beautiful sleepy Dorset village and countryside

8/10 Good
"Having stayed at Yoah Cottage with 8 members of our family last year, we were delighted that it was available again this year, so we arrived this time with the addition of our baby granddaughter.Everything was as good as we remembered it, the cottage was very clean, with the exception of a few cobwebs, but this somehow added to its charm. The beds were clean & comfortable with nice linen, showers & bathroom were also good. Had a couple of meals at the New Inn next door which were fab! There were just a couple of things that could do with addressing:The sink plug in the master bedroom shower room wouldn't hold water due to a faulty seal. The wi fi instructions we were given were completely wrong, I believe the router is in the pub and there are 3 wifi extenders throughout the cottage, we figured out that you had to log in to the extender nearest the TV to access wifi, then it worked & we were able to watch the football as long as no one else in the cottage was browsing the internet. The garden furniture was quite old & rickety, especially the two chairs, which we didn't feel safe using. If these small issues were addressed, the cottage would be perfect, having said this, we would have no hesitation in recommending a stay there. We'll probably be back next year."

"Number One was a very comfortable stop on our tour. It has easy access to so many points of interest and is a short walk to the co-op. Everything in the house was well designed and super functional. Having a washer and dryer is amazing luxury when traveling with young people! Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful 2-story home."
