Honestly got a 3 star property I wasn’t expecting much but it totally exceeded my expectations. The room wasn’t fancy but it was larger than I expected with a super comfy bed and great linens! The locations was perfect - like steps from the train. Plus the staff and breakfast served was so enjoyable.loved this place and highly recommend

Good hotel and good location
Room and bathroom very clean. Did not make use of any other facilities offered by the hotel. I chose this hotel because of its location next to the station. Had good nights sleep and it was quiet.

Rooms are very Spacious, clean and really comfortable beds. Hotel is in a great Location. Really good breakfast with right amount of choices for family. (Parking CHF9 Tax per night) Definitely book again

If you like trains, as I do, this is a great place to stay. The balcony provided an excellent view of the non stop action. For those who want a quieter experience rooms are available on the other side of the hotel

Olten the ideal jumping off point for Switzerland
Fabulous refurbed room with balcony overlooking ghe splendid and busy rsilway station. Not disturbed by noise and the outlook was fascinating. Really lively hotel with excellent attentive staff.

Friendly staff
Free parking, good breakfast. The layout is a little odd, as the hotel is split so by taking the stairs you cannot access your room. The elevator broke while we were there, but the repairs were being done promptly. Very friendly staff. Located next to the train station, but not noisy. Air conditioner worked great.

Ok but consider a few things
Good: Right next to station. Very good for train .helpful front desk . Consider : Rooms on front very noisy with trains 24/7 you may need ear plugs . Heating was just a n air con blower not a radiator so got cold over night and no spare blanket, etc in room and one one tiny pillow .

Great stay 3 nights
Friendly and convenient. We had a back bedroom and it was upgraded with thick windows and was very quiet even being by the train station. Probably one of the best hotels all around for price location and friendlyness.

Hotel is opposite the train station for easy access,car parking to the rear ,really friendly staff ,free upgrade was given ,restaurant closed for dinner but was told that "eat.CH has loads of restaurants that deliver to the hotel which was perfect ,room was comfortable ,breakfast was great

I have stayed at the Hotel Amaris in Olten, Switzerland several times. It is my "go to" place when I travel to Switzerland. It is merely steps away from the main train station and close to numerous shops and restaurants. From the reception staff, to the kitchen personnel- everyone is welcoming and friendly. For me, when I see the Amaris after a long day of travel... it is like seeing an "old friend". It will always be my home away from home in Olten. This was my first stay at The Hotel Amaris. The hotel is perfectly located for the railway station - from which you can travel to just about ANY PART OF SWITZERLAND IN 3 HOURS. The staff at the Amaris were very friendly, very polite, very helpful and very efficient. The hotel was clean and my single room was quite adequate. Breakfasts were good, with the usual selection of cereals, cheeses and cold meats, along with some hot items (bacon, sausages and eggs). This hotel represented good value for money and I will definately stay here again. Just a word of warning - if you like to watch trains, request a room at the front but if you want to sleep at night, request a quieter room.

Room was gloomy and dark. View of th3 railway station, which was predictably noisy but not intrusive. Staff are excellent. Breakfast standard buffet fare. Location great - but finding it can be tricky !

The staff at the Hotel were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Nice breakfast. Close to the city centre and good for rail travel to all destinations. Would definitely recommend.

Comfortable and friendly hotel in Olten
Loved this hotel. The staff really are great, all of them, which I can rarely say about hotels. By the station, 2 mins walk, trains do run all night but the windows kept most of the noise out such that I didn't have trouble sleeping. Good sized and bright room with decent bed. Pillows rather flat, but normal for Switz, always bring my own. Cover on bed could have been bigger. Internet easy to use, plenty of TV channels. Bathroom clean and bright, big shower with doors to keep water in. Housekeeping observed my 'Do not disturb' sign, which I really appreciate, and were available if I needed another towel etc. Breakfast was a lovely typical Swiss style buffet which was kept stocked up until end of service. Was welcomed each morning by the staff and did not feel rushed to finish when closing time came. This is the first time I have stayed in Olten but am glad I chose this hotel. All in all I had a very pleasant stay. The staff here really add a lot to the welcoming feel of the hotel and should I stay in this area again I shall definitely be back to Hotel Amaris.

Restless night
I had a restless night. The room was right next to the railway station. I also had some issues with the shower head dripping. The staff tried everything to assist but it could not be fixed. There was no other room available unfortunately and I had to put up with dripping noise and train noises all night.
