Very central, staff lovely, hotel rooms dated.

No air con, only one window opened. It's an old hotel but even so parts were really scruffy. Staff lovely!!

Perfect location, lovely staff, pool and breakfast

This building is historic and therefore I can understand the limitations to extend/ build upon however the interior is tardy with paint flanking, single pain windows along a busy road and the bathroom furniture was damaged beyond belief.

Don't bother staying here in summer

Posted 12-Jun-2016
Great location however no air con available in room. All rooms are very small you could barely move around. We stayed mid June and we barely slept because it was so hot in our room. It was very very uncomfortable. When we were explaining this to the hotel, staff at the front desk wasn't very helpful and said this building is just like that with this kind of weather.

Enorm fijn.

Wouldn't stay here again or recommend

I was very disappointed with my stay as the hotel definitely didn't live up to my expected standards. I have stayed in Hilton hotels before which have been much better quality which annoyed me. Firstly, the room was small and dark so it didn't feel very welcoming. The bed was uncomfortable and not what you want after a long journey. The walls were very thin so any time that someone walked past the room you could hear them talking. The room also looked out onto a brick wall as we were on the 1st floor and the TV was also bad quality. As well as this, the wardrobe was loud and barely opened properly to which we had to slam shut. We also had a problem with close the main door to our room as it seemed like a latch was on but there wasn't making us late to meet friends. I came here to celebrate my 18th birthday and I was very annoyed at what I received especially as I choose this hotel due to its reputation as a high end hotel and my weekend was slightly ruined by this. I would not stay in this hotel again neither recommend it to a friend or family member.

Pleasant Staff

Ok ish room, clean and well decorated but lacking any real charm. Felt dark and not really enticing. Better hotels in the city for the money.

Room was tiny, uncomfortable, cold and noisy. Very disappointing. All staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good. Pool was good.

Very disappointing

For over 70 pounds a night I would expect a lot more. The 'compact' double room should never be called a double, the bed is barely bigger than a single. There's hardly enough room to walk around the bed, and no daylight coming in due to scaffolding outside the room. Monday morning building work started at 10am directly outside our room, so loud that we couldn't relax and checked out early. Rooms are noisy and too hot, for some reason at nighttime the cold tap would only run hot water! Not great if you want a drink or to brush your teeth. That being said the staff were lovely and the breakfast was great, but I would never book there again unless it was dirt cheap. Stayed in the travel lodge last year and that was much nicer!
