I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The check-in process was painless. They send you a code prior to your arrival and you enter that code at a kiosk when you arrive, create a room key and you're off. Although you don't interact with staff upon check-in, their staff was very friendly when we did need help. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and the place they suggested was excellent. The hotel lobby is cool. They had a live DJ spinning near the bar/lounge area at night. The hotel lobby had a better vibe at night than some of the bars we visited. HTL Kungsgatan has a great location. It's walking distance from transportation, shopping, bars and restaurants. I hope to experience another HTL hotel in the future.
Though I stayed for one night only, I feel good for choosing this hotel as my stay in Stockholm. The location is good, room is clean, staff are nice and beds are comfortable. The breakfast is the most impressive part of my stay with numerous choices!
I will definitely recommend the hotel to friends wanna visit Stockholm.
My wife and son stayed in a no frills three bed room. It was clean and quiet. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Gabrielle who checked us in gave us advice on where to eat and showed us the short walk to old town. Breakfast was a highlight! Excellent stay. Looking forward to spending two nights on our return journey.
A good quality Hotel close to Stockholm Central railway station (2 minutes) and 10 minutes walk from the old town and a big selection of Cafes, Restaurants and bars. It makes a change from big chain Hotels and is just as good. Breakfast is usual EU fare and the coffee was nice, plus they made food for my early departure with no extra charge. The Staff are helpful and friendly and offered plenty of advice for evening entertainment and sites to see in and around the city. The Hotel bar was busy when I went in with a mix of local and visiting clientele. I didn't hear any noise at all from neighbouring rooms, which is a bonus as most Hotels usually suffer some of this. I'd recommend the Elite Hotel as a good alternative for business visitors and city breaks.
Room was below ground (which made it quieter), spacious, attractive and clean. The hotel is close to the train terminal which is large and spread out. The hotel is at Vastra Jarnvagsgatan 17 which sits between two cross streets Klarabergsgatan and Kungsgatan. All these streets are elevated which can be confusing. When arriving on the airport train (Arlanda Express) don't follow most of the crowd. Instead turn in the other direction and at the end of the platform there is an elevator and stairs to the elevated cross street Kungsgatan above. Go up the stairs or elevator and when exiting the building turn left on Kungsgatan and walk to Vastra Jarnvagsgatan. At Vastra Jarnvagsgatan turn left and look for the hotel sign on the right. To return to the airport train from the hotel - when leaving the hotel turn left on Vastra Jarnvagsgatan and then turn right on Kungsgatan. This will lead you back to the stairs/elevator to the airport train platform. Here you can use a credit card to buy a ticket from the machine on the platform. In case you have confusion with these directions use Google Earth to help get oriented before you arrive. I walked around dragging my luggage for an hour trying to find the hotel upon arrival in Stockholm.

This is Stockholm’s city center, making it one of the most convenient places to stay. It’s home to the Central Station, Stockholm’s most famous park, Kungsträdgården, and Sergels Torg (think Times Square or Piccadilly Circus). The Royal Opera House and Hötorget symphony hall are also here. Shoppers flock to NK, Sweden's answer to Harrod's.
