Modern clean facility

Posted 20-Oct-2016
Location: Not much around in this industry land (modern hitech industry, mind) but plenty to do on site. City centre is fairly accessible.
With 'facility' referring to 'facile', or easy rather than anything else, this hotel takes the simplicity of Citizen M check in / out processes to a friendlier level and expands with great local facilities too, like the great breakfast/diner and nice pub - but dont expect any food after 10 pm! Otherwise, nice and clean, functional, very comfy bed, great shower, fast free wifi (are you listening america?). Strongly recommended.

Large hotel, car needed to get about the area

Posted 07-Aug-2016
Pros: Corporate feel
Cons: Air conditioning
The rooms have everything you need but air conditioning, it was very hot and we were unable to open the windows because of the window restrictors

Noisy, grubby, hot, poor TV - left after 2 nights

Posted 26-Jul-2016 on Hotels
We booked for three nights but left after two. The carpets look grubby throughout, the room was too hot, the TV had very a handful of channels (some with poor reception) worse than - normal freeview would have been an upgrade. The rooms were noisy and all the doors banged until the early hours resulting in very poor sleep. The breakfast was £10 pp which was expensive for the quality of the food provided. We wrote a letter to the manager as no-one was available but have not heard back from anyone yet - 3 days ago now. Very poor all round - avoid. We've had much better, cleaner stays with Traveodge or of Holiday Inn.

Not as good as expected for cost

Posted 23-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Convenient location but overpriced unless leisure club facilities of value. Spacious room but shabby in shower area. No Air Conditioning in room which for this level of cost would have expected - unfortunately hottest day of the year! Would only use again based on location otherwise would look elesewhere

Great location, friendly staff, just ok for kids

Posted 08-Jul-2016
Pros: Location, big pool Super staff in reception, restuarants and bar!!! 10/10
Cons: Access times for hotel guests with children to pool could be a little more flexible
Location: Handy for metro to town, Rising sun nature park, stephensons railway museum, aquarium, beautiful seafronts Whitley bay to Tynemouth great food/pubs
Wonderful, personable and engaging staff. Very helpful with ideas of things to see and places to go. Lovely hotel well situated for beach and metro to town. Felt very pampered and rooms large, supercomfortable, not too hot, spacious. Great showers. Fab gym for fitness buffs and 25 m pool with lots of daylight. Limited swim times for children in the pool which we had not known beforehand. 9-12 and2-6. Staff stricct on this which was a shame as it does not always fit in to holiday makers day but accomodates the regular, local gym users. No babysitting service. Great for couples . We were the only family there but english schools dont break off for 2 weeks. Food very good.

Don't expect a Friendly welcome

Reception on arrival was poor made to feel like an idiot as didn't realise was computer check in or how to do it. However apart from this receptionist rest of staff were very good. Food in Bar was just average so went out for meals including breakfast at local Toby Carvery.

Tatty room and no smiles on check-in

Posted 20-Jun-2016 on Hotels
Room was very tatty, not as clean as it should be. No smiling reception when we arrived but instead a computer terminal with a DIY check in and key programmer, mmmmm what happening with the personal touch? not sure I liked it but some others may........ I have stayed in this hotel many times before, but I think that will be the last time.
