Below standard expected

Posted 10-Apr-2017
I stayed in this hotel at the weekend and the first thing I had to do was take a towel down that was absolutely filthy which did not get us off to the best of starts. I awoke in the morning to a letter pushed under the door saying I still. Owed for breakfast which made my blood boil as I had paid 125 pound which included breakfast charge. Ithe cost was 124 but the receptionist had no change so I told her to keep the pound. It seems badly managed and unorganised and the room was unclean

Lift not working, lots of roadworks around the hot

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: Village Hotels set a certain level of expectation... sadly this wasn't met at this particular hotel.
Cons: Fix the elevator, which has apparently been out of order for a few weeks!

Not what you'd expect for the price

Posted 12-Mar-2017
Pros: Large television, Starbucks onsite
Cons: Everything else, especially staff attitudes, get some customer service training!
Location: Silverlink 5 min drive away
Stayed in this hotel because I was attending a wedding being held there. The lift was broken for the entirety of our stay with a sign stating that "engineers are working to resolve the issue" and when I asked staff if there was another lift I was told I had to carry my own luggage or leave it downstairs. Later on discovered certain parties were allowed to use the good lift but only after serious complaint. Very rarely any staff at the reception especially during busy times? But went to reception at 10pm to get another key card made for my room and no less than 4 members of staff were at the reception desk. Hotel bar was closed after an altercation which is totally understandable however the stinking attitude of the bar staff when explaining to people that the bar was closed was not understandable. Rooms are very basic, minus a very large television the beds feel smaller than a normal double and the concentration seems to have been set more on fancy decorations (like a stone panel for our bathroom cups to sit on???) instead of comfort. Will be sending a formal letter of complaint to the hotel. Not worth £81 a night by any stretch of the imagination.

Good overall.

Nice room, nice facilities, comfy bed. Happy with almost everything. Only bad points were; we booked a twin room but only had 1 towel! Went down to buy a bottle of water for the room and was charged £2.45. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel

Posted 15-Feb-2017
Pros: Stayed in a club room with a large comfortable bed and a huge t.v. Nice coffee/tea maker in room.
Cons: Found the decor a bit dark. Dark wood, orange drawer fronts, grey walls. Larger drawers or another set would be useful.
Location: On a business park, but easy access to road. Retail park with cinema and restaurants nearby.
Used the hotel as a base for visiting relations. Convenient location for us and a reasonable price. Very nice buffet breakfast. Did not use the restaurant or bar but they were always busy.

Noisy again!

Posted 10-Feb-2017 on Hotels
This is the second time we have had a restless nights sleep here. Both times there have been parties in the room next door. This time, a member of staff did ask the occupants to keep it down, following complaints. But they only turned the music down and carried on shouting and laughing until the morning. The hotel was full, so no chance of moving rooms. I totally understand that some people may want to stay up all night when enjoying themselves but I definitely wouldn't stay here again.
