Nice hotel but not very scenic

Posted 01-Feb-2016
Pros: The bed was comfortable and had a nice bathroom.Didn't use the swimming pool etc but it looked nice.
Cons: Some staff could be a little more friendy. Extra pillows should be in the wardrobe. More tv stations would be nice. Drinks were very expensive.
Location: Don't really know the area apart from Silverlink Shopping Centre
We found the hotel ok. Some staff were nicer than others. We were told that we weren't allowed breakfast because we hadn't paid and luckily we had the receipt with us to prove we did. She said" that's fine", no apology for making us feel stupid. Could of been a bit more pleasant. Plenty of choice for breakfast and it was very nice. The room was nice, a bit dusty but ok. Large tv but hardly any channels, maybe you have to pay for more.Outside view was a horrible huge flat roof, couldn't see past it. Asked for extra pillows because only gave us 2 flat ones.Had hardly any sleep because of music then noise till after 4 in the morning.

Nice Hotel Central to everything

Posted 17-Jan-2016
Pros: the Bar, The resturant all of the food was very good
Cons: nothing
Location: easy access to city via buses and metro, nice walk accross the road.
We enjoyed staying at the hotel, the staff were warm and friendly, special mention for Rob in Starbucks, despite the weather he brought sunshine to us very morning. Laura in the resturant went out of her way to make our evening special.

Nightmare getting booked in

Posted 01-Dec-2015
Due to trouble with the Motorway we didn't arrive at the hotel till 11:30pm to be told that the Hotel was over booked and there was no room for us. When we questioned that fact as we had already paid and booked some time ago, the Hotel blamed the mix-up on expedia over booking their rooms and told us we would have to go some where else but offered to pay for the taxi. It took us till well after Midnight complaining with them for them to miraculously find us a room. They apparently upgraded us as well to a better room but we didn't see any extra benefits in that room. It was still a small standard sized room which got me wandering what I paid £200 for originality, so that might of been a lie too. But after a 9 hour drive we where not in the mood for having the extra hassle of getting a bed for the night and them using expedia as the excuse for their mistake. We are suppose to stay there again for a wedding next year, but think we will book somewhere else now.

Hotel better than the football!

Posted 23-Nov-2015
Pros: Good parking, good facilities, good links to the city and the coast.
Cons: T.V. was a bit temperamental and room could have been a bit warmer.
Location: Location was good. Didn't really go anywhere other than Whitley Bay for an Indian.
Came up from Yorkshire to watch Newcastle play football (?) they were terrible, the hotel however was very good. Was given an upgrade and enjoyed the facilities even more. Good friendly staff, excellent breakfast, great facilities, would stay there again without doubt, Just hope the football gets better.

Great Staff, tired hotel

Posted 05-Nov-2015 on Hotels
On the upside the staff are great. They are amongst some of the friendliest I have come across so that made the overall stay comfortable. On the downside the hotel is functional, but not plush by any means. For the money spent I would have expected a more updated hotel with WIFI that actually worked. One of the biggest let-downs was that the WIFI didn't even work in the communal areas. Overall, the hotel is tired and the restaurant is laughably defined as Italian. It's about as Italian as borscht.

A good hotel to unwind in

Posted 03-Nov-2015 on Hotels
We had a nice two night break without the children. The room was comfy and warm. The bed was really snuggly and we enjoyed the sky movies. The room above was noisy - we could hear them walking round a lot which disturbed our sleep, as did the noise outside. There were two weddings on and I guess the smokers used the front exit to go out to smoke. They were loud and kept me awake for a while. Still, I guess it's one of those things. This has not happened before when we've stayed there. The pub is great and the breakfast was tasty. The staff at breakfast were obviously tired as they didn't smile too much.

Nice and clean, friendly

Posted 28-Oct-2015
We had a great stay at the village. The only problem we had is there was only one bath towel for the two of us. We did ask for another one when we went out for the evening but nothing was done . We did inform staff in the morning and they apologized, it was down to house keeping.

Hello, many thanks for your feedback. I have passed this onto housekeeping to ensure at least 2 sets of towels are placed in double occupancy rooms. We do hope to welcome you back in the near future. Kind Regards
