The host was great communication wise upfront gave us all information, we had some issues on the way and were later arriving than planned but our host made sure the heating was on for us getting there which made it a lovely welcome. Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay with a friend. Beautiful hotel in unique location in quiet South Sands beachy cove. Lots of ways to get to Salcombe town centre either walking (a bit hilly), hotel shuttle car or water ferry. Rooms have stunning decor and bathrooms are very well appointed. Service throughout the hotel is excellent and very friendly. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good value & again great service throughout but with particular mention of lovely service...

Absolutely beautiful place, beautiful location I cant fault anything. Pub and local store in easy walking distance. Just be aware no local public transportation except taxi which have limited availability. Wasnt a big issue but if you want to go into Plymouth it was £25 each way to the train station with one train an hour. We brought our telescope but unfortunately had cloud cover but would be a perfect location for evening of star gazing
