The position is very central for the town and no hills to climb! Lovely food too. Highly recommended, my only comment would be that we stayed on a very hot night so had the windows wide open (the room had a Dyson fan as well) and we could hear the customers in the outside area until quite late, though I would add that The Fortescue provide ear plugs! Loved our stay at The Fortesque, we had a great room which was well furnished with a lovely bathroom. Brilliant breakfast and we also sampled their takeaway pizzas and ate in the pub on our last night which was lovely. Fantastic quality rooms fitted out in a modern style. Excellent location right in the town and a short stroll to the gin factory. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Great breakfast and decent pub food too. Parking is a issue in salcombe & no spaces were available at the car park that the pub has a permit for. However we parked for free down the road within a 10 minute stroll along the estuary.
