"A place to rest your head, just steps away from 🌊"
This was our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely be back. This is a no frills, no resort fee, no parking fee place to lay your head and shower off the sand just steps from the beach. They only have single bed rooms so we had two rooms with a door that opened between. It worked out great for our family of four. It was really nice to have two bathrooms and showers. This hotel does not have a pool, but who needs one when the best beach in Maui is just a few steps away from your room. The location can not be beat, it has two excellent restaurants right next door and a convenient store right across the lawn.

    Wyndham Worldwide on Maui Island

From your island-inspired room at one of Maui Island’s Wyndham Worldwide resorts, you’ll be just steps from beaches with great snorkelling. You’ll also be able to make use of the fitness centre, and enjoy an al fresco dinner at the barbecue grills.

    South Maui Areas: Kihei

On Maui’s south-western coast, Kihei Beach has clear views of Molokino Crater and the island of Kahoolawe. The gentle waters are perfect for canoeing and snorkelling, and humpback whales are regularly seen swimming just off the shore.

    Discovering Maui Island’s Marine Life

Known for the many sightings of humpback whales just off its shoreline, South Maui is one of the best areas on Maui to explore Hawaii’s marine life. Visit the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea to come face to face with sharks, jelly fish and Hawaiian monk seals.

Spend the day at Kihei’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary to see a number of exhibitions on whales, reef fish and dolphins.

Also well-known on Maui are its native sea turtles, which you can see in their natural habitat is on Maluaka Beach. For the chance to see more endangered species and learn how they can be protected, head to Kealia Pond, a National Wildlife Conservation District in northern Kihei, to see an endangered species of coots.

    Beaches in South Maui

Wailea Beach is another popular spot for whale watching on Maui Island, but it’s also great for just enjoying the sun, sea and sand or having a go at body boarding. If you’re really into water sports, check out the wind- and kite-surfing at Kalama Beach Park in Kihei
