Days Inn Maui Oceanfront

2980 S Kihei Road, Kihei - Map
"Right on a public beach (not good for swimming)"
I've stayed here many times. Its an inexpensive hotel. My only gripe is the coffee pot. I'm not a fan of Keurig coffee pots. I would rather have a small pot of coffee instead of making one at a time. Beds and pillows are SO COMFORTABLE! The air condition and bathroom fan are very loud. There is sometimes a sewage smell outside the hotel. If you don't want any door dings in your car, I recommend parking in the gravel lot next to the hotel. Its not perfect but, you are never in your room anyways. I love Maui.

    Contemporary Hotels from Wyndham Worldwide

Wyndham Worldwide has provided contemporary accommodation since 2006, and the company now has hotels and resorts across the globe. Ranging from reasonably priced hotels to upscale resorts, Wyndham accommodation is suitable for various budgets and lifestyles.

The Travelodge and Days Inn brands offer affordable accommodation with plenty of family friendly comforts. Wyndham Worldwide’s distinguished Wyndham Grand and Dolce Hotels and Resorts provide deluxe facilities in a casual setting.

    Wyndham Worldwide on Maui Island

From your island-inspired room at one of Maui Island’s Wyndham Worldwide resorts, you’ll be just steps from beaches with great snorkelling. You’ll also be able to make use of the fitness centre, and enjoy an al fresco dinner at the barbecue grills.

    South Maui Areas: Kihei

On Maui’s south-western coast, Kihei Beach has clear views of Molokino Crater and the island of Kahoolawe. The gentle waters are perfect for canoeing and snorkelling, and humpback whales are regularly seen swimming just off the shore.

    Discovering Maui Island’s Marine Life

Known for the many sightings of humpback whales just off its shoreline, South Maui is one of the best areas on Maui to explore Hawaii’s marine life. Visit the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea to come face to face with sharks, jelly fish and Hawaiian monk seals.

Spend the day at Kihei’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary to see a number of exhibitions on whales, reef fish and dolphins.

Also well-known on Maui are its native sea turtles, which you can see in their natural habitat is on Maluaka Beach. For the chance to see more endangered species and learn how they can be protected, head to Kealia Pond, a National Wildlife Conservation District in northern Kihei, to see an endangered species of coots.

    Beaches in South Maui

Wailea Beach is another popular spot for whale watching on Maui Island, but it’s also great for just enjoying the sun, sea and sand or having a go at body boarding. If you’re really into water sports, check out the wind- and kite-surfing at Kalama Beach Park in Kihei
