My flat is located in the heart of ever evolving Bermondsey, with its thriving restaurant, bar and club scene, art galleries, design studios and boutique shops. A short distance from the City, the Design Museum, Borough Market, Tate Modern and Tower Bridge, it is ideally located to visit some of London's finest sights whilst staying in an up and coming neighbourhood. If you seek Tower Bridge my flat is only moments away.
The famous Maltby Market is only a couple of minutes walk away.
It is ideally situated for the City, West End and Canary Wharf so makes a great base for holidays and weekend breaks, or as a pied-à-terre for those visiting or working in London's business districts.
You will find a Tesco supermarket to buy all you groceries, only 3 minutes away from the flat.
THE PERFECT WEEK END IN BERMONDSEY:
Bermondsey is a great place to spend a leisurely weekend, starting early on a Friday morning with a visit to the antiques market in Bermondsey Square.
Saturday:
Saturday brings the foodie delights of Borough Market. Walking back towards Bermondsey Street, you can pop into the fab and quirky gift shop Bermondsey 167 or nip to the amazing Peter Layton glass blowing gallery and workshop.
Once you have worked up an appetite, head onto Casse-Croûte for French bistro fare or Tanner & Co for burgers. The Garrison and The Woolpack are two popular gastropubs.
Around the corner in Tooley Street, Magdalen serves modern British food. In and around Shad Thames and Butler’s Wharf, there is a top brasserie Le Pont de la Tour and Blueprint Café, or Del’Aziz in Bermondsey Square serves food with a Middle Eastern twist.
For traditionalists, there is M.Manze eel, pie and mash shop, dating back to 1902.
Sunday:
Lazy Sundays are spent walking around the neighbourhood galleries and other cultural delights, such as Southwark Cathedral and the weird and the wonderful along the Southbank. Follow this by a trip to Maltby Street Market, known for its artisanal coffee, Taiwanese waffles, and homemade pesto.
ACCOMMODATION
The concept behind my Flat is "Space Saving".
During the day you have the comfort of a large living space, with a sofa, coffee table and TV.
And when the night comes and you decide to go to bed, just fold down the wall-mounted bed; You are now in a bedroom, ready to have a good night sleep, in a proper bed!
Light and large studio flat (30m2/376. ft.) on the 3rd floor( No Lift). You don't share the flat with anyone; you are totally independent!
The studio accommodates two people comfortably, and up to 4 people, for a short break.
The sofa bed can be made up as one double size bed and the wall bed( Small double) give extra space to the flat when in upright position.
The bathroom is equipped with a Shower and towels are provided.
Good size fully equipped kitchen with kettle, toaster, microwave oven, gas hob, fridge and washing machine. There's a flat screen TV, phone line and free Wi-Fi.
In addition to the above, the studio has an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and a hoover.
TRANSPORT
Buses stop every few minutes; bus stop is 2min walk from the flat.
The Number 1 and 188 takes you to the West End and its theatres and shops in 30 minutes. It also runs every 30 minutes throughout the night.
The 78 goes to Shoreditch and the City via Tower Bridge (10 minutes) and Liverpool Street station (20 minutes).
Bermondsey underground station is on the Jubilee line and is a 10-minute walk away. It's just two stops to the business district of Canary Wharf, four stops to Westminster and six stops to Bond Street which can be reached door to door from the house in about 30 minutes.
Bermondsey Station is only 30min away from London City Airport( LCY).
