We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is about a 10minute walk to the train station. We booked a room with no window, which I would not do again. It sometimes smelled a bit weird. In addition, the room is quite tiny (we had 4 suitcases which did not make it any better). Next time I would definitely book a larger room.
There is a 7-11 just across the street and a 24hr food court, which is cheap and good.
"Nice location! About 10 min walk to bugis station."
The room was extremely small. I got two single beds room and they were completely stuck together. There was no rooms for luggage and no rooms for placing even a chair. However, the stuffs there were so polite and helpful. There were lots of local restertants besides the hotel.
Hotel not too far from Lavender MRT, lovely entrance, very friendly staff. They were happy to keep our bags until check in time, and again when we had a late flight out of Singapore. Room a good size for Singapore, a nice balcony, bedding very good, bed and pillows comfortable. Very nice roof top pool with great views. Very clean, food halls and 7-11 a few doors away. I would say excellent value for the cost of the room.
The hotel is within the walking distance to Serangoon road, and other eateries. If you are planning your activities around these type of shopping (Indian stuff, or Arab stuff), its a convenient location. You can actually walk to places. Foodwise you have good options. Staff are really nice. You will find a little bit Sub-continental mentality of basically not trusting you, but that's ok. They probably get a lot of people who cheats them in some way. For example, when you go for breakfast, they basically hound you and keep you under their eyes until you sign the check. Never happens in USA, for example. A bit annoying. But its ok.
Little India is a gathering place for the working-class Indian community, foodies, and bargain-hunters. The Tekka wet market is worthy of a walk-through before reaching the main thoroughfare of Serangoon. Stop here for ethnic jewelry, silk saris, henna tattoos, tantalizing spices, and brassware. The 24-hour Mustafa Shopping Center is another must-see. Check out Racecourse Road for Northern and Southern Indian food.
