"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts. "The radiator in the room didn't work. I went to see the staff, and the boiler wasn't switched on, which is very strange for January !!. The boiler was on but the radiator didn't work on either day of my visit. 2 heaters were provided, but the person in charge wasn't aware of the issue with the boiler/radiator, which was poor in my view."

"We enjoyed many facets of our stay at the Lister Arms in early May. The sights and walks are stupendous--there are steep walks and near flat walks along the river and some through stone walled grass fields with lots of sheep. The food at the Lister was excellent and we had meals in the morning, midday and evening. Great selection of real ales. Very attentive and engaging staff. "
