The Townhouse is perfectly located in Melrose's charming centre. It is well-appointed and does a great job catering for guests needs and wishes. It has a buzz of activity that works really well, and the staff are unfailingly friendly, helpful and on hand. We'll certainly be back in Melrose and Townhouse will be our intended place to stay. Thanks folks.

The food was excellent; we only stayed for a weekend so we didn't manage to sample the entire menu. The staff were professional and friendly.

A great weekend away for my husbands birthday. The hotel is easy to find. Staff, through all levels, were very professional, courteous and made you feel very welcome. Our room was spotless but next time we stay we will probably pay extra so we can try one of the suites. Food was to a very high standard. The hotel is centrally located with beautiful grounds overlooking the river. Everything about our stay here was lovely. The room was dated however spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room overlooking the gardens and river. Everything you could wish for was on the menu, There's loads of character in this hotel. All staff very friendly and helpful too. We will definately be back!

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price. Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?) If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St. We'll stay here again. Loved it.

We stayed here to celebrate my husbands special birthday. From the moment we drove up and saw the impressive ship we knew we were in for a special treat. Everything about this place is incredible. The staff were so helpful and very welcoming. You helped make my husbands birthday treat a very special memory. Thank you !

This is a traditional hotel close to the centre of the town. Very comfortable and the staff were excellent, The only problem was access to the car park at the rear of the hotel was by a number of flights of stairs and as I am in the over 80 group I found this rather a nuisance. Younger generation will find it less of a problem.

Our stay at the hotel was amazing! Our favourite part was using the steam room, sauna and pool! All the staff were extremely helpful, kind and friendly which was so amazing! The breakfast was great with a good varied selection which was very much enjoyed! I will definitely be staying again!

It was absolutely lovely! Very close to Edinburgh Waverley and some lovely restaurants. Calton Hill is right next door as well. The front desk staff was very helpful, and the room was plush and clean. We wish we could stay longer!

I have never stayed at this hotel before and I will 100% be returning. Super clean, fantastic finish and the bed sheets were so soft! Couldn’t fault a single thing. We stayed on a Saturday night (on floor 9) and you could hear a tiny bit of noise from local streets but did not disturb our sleep one bit. All staff were super friendly too. Fab location too. Am amazing hotel staff absolutely fantastic. Room was large as was the bathroom. Fantastic view of the garden. Free tea and coffee all day. Breakfast was good. Bus stop just outside the hotel to get into Edinburgh city centre.

Booked this at the last minute on impulse as an absolute bargain offer. I didn't have particularly high expectations given the low price & some less than happy reviews. How wrong could I be!! It was amazing!!! I work in the travel trade & stay in many hotels. I can honestly say that I have rarely enjoyed a hotel as much as the Peebles Hydro.
