Traffic noise all night

Posted 30-Aug-2016
Pros: Spacious rooms
Cons: Attention to detail, customer focus, restaurant quality and service
Location: Brockholes is a surprising treat.
Rooms spacious and comfy but no air con and the hotel is right by the M6 and A59 so traffic noise is constant, worsened by needing windows open in warmer weather. Advertises as a Scottish Steakhouse as a restaurant and so cooking steaks well would be the first order, i wasn't the only one to send my steak back and if i had to eat there again i would order off another part of the menu.

Handy for business use

Posted 05-Aug-2016
Pros: easy of access from motorway for quick stop over
Cons: staff attitude
slightly disappointing as there was no shower / shampoo in my room and on checkout I mentioned to staff at desk who said he would pass onto house keeping but there was no apology

Convenient location but dated hotel

Posted 24-Jul-2016
Not quite to the usual standard of a Macdonald hotel. Rooms are in need of refurbishment and bedding smelt of cigarette smoke

very nice hotel

Posted 21-Jul-2016
Pros: everything
Location: the location was ideal for us as we were attending a wedding just up the road and its just off the motorway.
check in was very good,my wife has just had a knee replacement and the young lady on reception swapped our room around so that we were on the ground floor and close to reception all of the staff were so helpful.

Overnight stay

Posted 10-Jul-2016
We were looking for an overnight stay on a long journey north and this hotel fit the bill. Close to the M6 but we were not disturbed by traffic noise at all and had a good night's sleep. Nearby is a Costa, Subway and a Nisa store if you need to stock up. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Great value and comfortable room

A very short stay for business. Whilst I wouldn't take my wife there for her birthday it was a very comfortable stay. The price was great, the room nice with a good bed and a view of the pond and the restaurant was exactly what I wanted. I'd stay there again if travelling or for work. Would recommend.

some good, mostly disappointing

Posted 21-Apr-2016 on Hotels
the good: convenient to the motorway, clean, fast free WiFi, decent restaurant. the bad: the hotel was incredibly hot, with no way of controlling the temperature per room. the window barely opened at all, and when it did, there was no bug screen, and a torrent of pests flew in. also, the loo design was very poor. with the toilet seat placed literally touching the wall, there was no way to sit comfortably. there was plenty of room to lay it out differently, and it would have been much better. there's plenty of better hotels in this price range. keep looking
