"Lovely little spot on the outskirts of Ambleside but easily walkable to downtown. Great cozy room and absolutely phenomenal hot breakfast. Hosts were responsive, helpful, and friendly. Can't recommend this enough for anyone passing through."

"Not far from train station
Breakfast not the widest choices but ok for us.
Room lovely, clean, looked recently decorated. Nice bedding.
Nice ensuite bathroom nicely tiled, clean and new looking not the largest but it was a smaller room
Coffee, tea, biscuits.
Nice and warm and comfy bed."

"Excellent stay at the Windermere suite. The room was spotless and really nice. Ray & Wong were excellent hosts and helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and delivered to your room and even accommodating for my wife who is gluten intolerant. Loads of parking on site and really close to the centre and Bowness."

I rarely write reviews about holiday stays but had to do so for our three night stay at Grange Manor. The room was fabulous-luxurious,spotless and so comfortable and the extra finishing touches made it a home from home. Breakfast served every morning in the room was a delight. No noisy dining room nor rush to have table cleared away. All was at our pace which was what we wanted. A peaceful haven in a beautiful setting with the most friendly and helpful staff made this break first class. We...

Beautiful hotel in beautiful location. The attention to detail was fantastic far more than expected. The team at the Hideaway go above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable. We had a wonderful weekend.

Stayed over Easter weekend. Arrived Friday night and was greeted by one of the owners, Bonnie.
We have a double room, well sized with lots of storage. Bed was soft and good for a few nights with been uncomfortable. Ensuite was good as well and the showers hot. All rooms look to come with a TV (limited to ITV and C4 channels only) and welcome book with the WiFi information (good for streaming)
Breakfast has to be preordered by 7pm he day before, good range of hot food on selection...

This is a great B&B and I thoroughly recommend it. It’s a central location and the parking permit is an added bonus. It makes a great base for exploring Ambleside or the wider Lake District.

We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. We had a king room which was absolutely huge, with a massive, very comfortable bed, a large and comfy sofa, a large bathroom with an excellent shower and a really big TV on a rotating wall bracket (to make it watchable from anywhere in the room). Really great guest house. Kind hosts, good room - and newly refurbished bathroom really good. Perfect breakfast. Able to park outside. Short walk to the town centre. Great to have a sofa in the room.

I put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles!
I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the ‘equestrian centre’ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and...

The weather was terrible but Matthew and Lucy more than made up for the lack of sunshine with their friendliness. Elder Grove is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in and would highly recommend it to others. They provided a hearty breakfast and were more than happy to cater for everyone’s likes and dislikes. Many thanks! Very happy!

A lovely peaceful property with easy access to Ambleside and walks over to Rydal. A brilliant breakfast and the hotel itself was so clean. We would love to return soon

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year.
The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice.
We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.

Prices for B&Bs in Lakeside often vary, but you can find a great deal from £58 with Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as location and the time of year. It usually costs more to stay at Lakeside B&Bs over the weekend too. Travelers can find the best deals by being flexible with their dates, and by using our filters to sort prices from low to high.
When is the best time to book a B&B in Lakeside?
The peak season for booking a B&B in Lakeside is during the summer months of June to August, when the area comes alive with visitors seeking both relaxation and adventure. This vibrant time is ideal for those who enjoy warm weather and outdoor activities, such as hiking and boating on the beautiful lakes that surround the town. The temperatures typically hover in the mid to high 20s Celsius, creating superb conditions for exploring the stunning scenery and enjoying lakeside picnics.
July stands out as the most popular month, attracting families and adventure travellers alike who want to make the most of their holidays. The lively atmosphere, combined with various local events and festivals, offers plenty of opportunities to engage with the community and meet fellow travellers.
For those looking for more affordable options, consider a visit in October. This month presents a wonderful chance to witness the stunning autumn colours, with the foliage transforming into a vibrant tapestry of reds and golds. You'll find fewer crowds, allowing for a more intimate experience with nature and the local charm of Lakeside.
