Seals can be seen bobbing about & red squirrels are a frequent visitor to the garden. "Lovely hotel with easy parking, great food (try the tart for dessert!), beautiful views in the lounge and restuaraunt, and a delightful pool and spa area. Note that you do need reservations for the outdoor hot tub (we were late arrivals and early departure, and did not check on the process for that). Would happily return and hopefully spend more than one night next time."

Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. "In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern.
