Lovely English Hotel

Posted 29-Sep-2015
Location: Great location, right on the seafront.
Only had an overnight stay here but really enjoyed it. Refreshing to stay in a hotel that had old English character. Very comfortable and relaxing. Great service.

very disappointing

Posted 21-Sep-2015
Pros: It was across the street from the beach
Cons: The rooms and the service
Location: The castle, the tunnels, the museum, the underground hospital, the walk along the white cliffs and interesting walk around the town
Arrived late, got no help with the bags. Hardly any staff and the staff there was were only interested in servicing the bar. The room was freezing with no extra blankets. There was no counter space in the bathroom, only a sink. A hugely disappointing experience. We stayed at a fabulous B&B for the rest of our stay in Dover.

One King Sized Bed In The Whole Hotel

Posted 15-Sep-2015
Pros: The breakfast and location.
Cons: Change the advertising of King Bed Superior rooms. There is only one.
Location: The location was very good for walking into the town and shopping pre-cruise.
We booked this hotel based on customer reviews and the proximity to the cruise ships. Upon checking in we were given a room that was quite small and had a full sized bed. We believed that we had booked a King sized bed, but were told at reception that there was only one King sized bed in the whole hotel, and that was in the bridal suite. Our misinformation according to the front desk was that in lieu of a King Superior room we instead had a balcony facing the waterfront. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the toilet made strange gargling noises throughout the night which resulted in very poor sleep. The staff at the hotel was very nice, and the buffet breakfast was also very good, but we would not stay there again as a good night's sleep was the priority.

Good parking, good view of the sea.

Posted 24-Aug-2015
The hotel is old and needs doing up, but the food was very good. They had a wedding on the Saturday and it took over the hotel, there was nowhere you could go to have a drink and get away from the wedding, and it took me 20 minutes at the bar to get a drink. The hotel is trying to run the place with minimum staff and it shows !!

Great hotel right on the sea front.

Posted 24-Aug-2015
Pros: Clean, modern, family friendly, staff.
Location: We had a lovely walk along the front and then into the town. There were lots of different places to get food and quite a few shops.
We stayed here as we were catching the ferry from Dover to Calais and am so glad that we did. The staff were extremely welcoming and the room was great. The room was so clean and beautifully presented and the bed was so comfortable - it was extremely difficult getting out of it at five in the morning to catch a boat! Would definitely recommend to friends and family to stay here.

Beach Hotel

Posted 15-Aug-2015
Pros: Handy for town / port etc
Cons: See above
Location: Lots to do if you have a car, with Canterbury only 14 miles / Dover Castle etc
Bit far for parking, especially if raining. Room very small, need more staff in dining room - rest good

Very handy hotel close to the Cruise Ship Terminal. Old fashioned beach hotel in English style.
