Queens Court Hotel

Queens Court Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The location was very pleasant and close to the town and both railway stations. My room was large, comfortable, dark in style. Bed was very comfortable and firm. Toiletries and provisions were basic. I didn't try the breakfast. I expected a bit more quality given the price, perhaps it was a bit overpriced. I didnt see the staff much but they seemed pleasant."

"Great location - very convenient for train station, and fantastic that dogs are allowed to stay, though no extras thrown in for them. No air conditioning though so room was very hot, even though an electric fan was provided."

Frequently asked questions

What should a history enthusiast expect from a trip to Gidleigh?
A trip to the sights with historical relevance in Gidleigh is probably number one on your travel itinerary. Why not absorb the local colour with a visit to the restaurants?
How many historically relevant hotels will I find in Gidleigh?
You'll find 589 hotels and other accommodation options bookable on Expedia in the larger Newton Abbot area, though you won't find many designated historic hotels.
What are the most important historical sites and other places in Gidleigh?
Places to visit in the wider area include Dartmoor National Park, Ashbury Golf Club and Canonteign Waterfalls and Country Park. You'll also find River Dart Country Park and Lydford Gorge in the area.
What is a historic hotel like in Gidleigh?
Historic hotels give guests the chance to stay in a place officially recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world can be castles, palaces or even pubs or old police stations — any place of special interest. These types of hotels in Gidleigh typically preserve original qualities such as period features or traditional architecture in their public spaces or guestrooms.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. The term "historic hotel" is more common in the U.S., while "heritage hotel" is often used in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the architecture and building. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it influenced the community.
Do historic hotels in Gidleigh have modern facilities?
Yes. Every effort is made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features. Guests can expect the usual amenities you'd get from a hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, WiFi and more. In Gidleigh, booking a historic hotel doesn't mean you're picking a place that's uncomfortable for guests or simply rundown.
