We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. A very impressive and imposing hotel that's clearly benefited from a multi-million pound revamp in the last year. I was offered a voucher each day for a free pint in return for foregoing daily housekeeping services and I thought this was a nice perk. Breakfasts are of the self-service variety and generally everything was in good supply, although all the croissants had gone occasionally. All in all an excellent base for a stay in Tynemouth, a gem of the North East.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Millie, the friendly house cat. David was very welcoming, and the house & grounds were beautiful. The room and bathroom were both spotless, I've never been to a cleaner hotel. Everything you could need was provided, and we had a quiet sleep. If you have dry skin issues (dermatitis, eczema etc.) like myself, you might wish to bring your own toiletries as the ones provided were quite drying.
