"The air conditioning unit was not very responsive to the room's temperature; however, since it wasn't too hot during my stay, it was manageable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which I found to be a refreshing experience. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear conversations from other rooms, especially late in the evening. I also suggest replacing the bathroom amenities (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner) as they did not have a pleasant scent. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location in the heart of downtown, close to the beach. You can easily walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and coffee houses."

"For an inexpensive place to stay with excellent beds. The breakfast room has changed since our last visit and it’s not ergonomically easy. One has to walk back and forth instead of in an easy circle. The doors are a choke point and the dirty dish receptacle should be in the seating area instead of the room with the food. The staff in the breakfast room didn’t seem to be very organized. But overall for the money the hotel was fine."

"What's not to love? It's a lovely facility, UBC campus is beautiful, and it's very peaceful. The rooms are spartan (they're dorms), but they randomly had the *most* amazing towels I've ever had at a hotel, and I've stayed at many top-end hotels (picture bath sheets two inches thick). Toiletries are mid, bring your own shampoo & conditioner unless you are ok with 2 in 1. Breakfast is a bit hit and miss (terrible coffee and eggs, pretty good pancakes & bacon). If you're planning on being in your room just to sleep, it's perfect."

"Last minute stay for a couple of nights. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained, as was the rest of the property. The indoor pool was a fun haven for my daughter and myself during some inclimate weather."
