Wonderful hotel in a great location. Room was spacious and clean and the staff were lovely. It would benefit from a hotel bar but we very much appreciated the bottle of wine!

Fantastic location as the hotel is close to subway station so can easily get anywhere, but it’s in a more peaceful part of town. There are loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops around. Our room (two double beds) was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Good location

My daughter and I had a trip to New York for our big birthdays, hotel was very central close to port authority, walking distance to time square and many other areas. Hotel staff made our visit special for us and are very helpful , friendly , professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would avoid 9th Avenue at night time as it didn’t feel very safe .

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. A special mention goes to James, the manager, who was incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The hotel is also in a great location for Times Square, making it easy to explore the city and all the main attractions. It was also great to be able to help ourselves to coffee and snacks throughout the day, which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Breakfast did get quite busy around 9:00 am, and the food options...

Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

It was just as I expected. It was not noisy at all (being so close to Times Square). I booked a room with a bunk bed and it was as small as shown in the pictures so definitely as expected. Stay was comfortable.

There is absolutely nothing bad to say about Kixby. The location is as safe as it gets,easy walking distance from Penn Station if you come in by LIRR/Airtrain from JFK(30 mins hassle free way to get into Manhattan) and the subway is 50 yards from the front door. There are the best selection of bars,restaurants and eateries within minutes of the hotel as well as Maddison Square Garden and the Empire State Building. All of the staff were friendly,helpful and informative,you get a free water...

The hotel has no breakfast available, just a coupon for a coffe shop next door

We arrived a little after 3pm, and had a lovely greeting from staff, but our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait. We booked and paid through Expedia… an Empire via room with living space. Please note that the hotel does not offer this type of room. None of their Empire View rooms have the separate living room area. The Empire view rooms do give a great view of the Empire State Building but their ‘living room’ is a tiny space with a chaise and a TV. Management were excellent with us and moved us...

Writing update in lobby January has proved to be a great time to see NYC and Kitano has proved to be a great place to stay very happy with all aspects but did not eat in ,too much choice close by.

Great view, nice accommodating staff, food at restaurant there was nice, staff cleaning and cleanliness of hotel was fantastic and it was a very good experiance to stay at this location.

The hotel itself is clean and centrally located for NYC tourism in Times Sq. the staff are great, breakfast included was a good start to each day and the price we got through Expedia was a bargain. Be warned that there is a migrant shelter directly opposite the hotel which can be intimidating as large groups hang around outside - the hotel have a regular security guard and the NYPD are outside the shelter all the time.

Our stay at Pod 39 was very enjoyable. The hotel location is perfect. Quiet yet close to Grand Central, Chrysrel Building, Empire State and Times Square, lots of shop and eating out options nearby. The hotel itself is in good condition. Its highlight is the rooftop. In the morning the bar is closed but you can still go there and eat breakfast & enjoy the views. Downstairs they have another bar. Great location, good pricing, friendly staff. If your are looking for a comfortable and modern stay with just the basics then I don’t see any reason to complain about this hotel. A very useful option to avoid paying a fortune in the more opulent hotels. They kindly extended my checkout until 12pm for no extra charge.

This is a fabulous hotel in a great location for pounding the streets of NYc. So close to Penn station. On arrival I was told about all the amenities that were included with the fee and the water and cookies were great. The rooms are small but that is NYC! Definitely be fine for 2 people. Great bathroom The bed was so comfortable and I slept really well and didn’t hear any noise from the streets. A great place to stay
