The Coal Exchange Hotel

The Coal Exchange Hotel

8/10 Good
"Friendly staff, the room was large but very dark, it had dark wallpaper & curtains & there were only a couple of spot lights as you entered then a lit recess area above the bed & one bedside lamp which wasn’t ideal. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi bath, with nice towels provided. We did go for breakfast, it’s self service, plenty to choose from, tho scrambled is the only egg option, good for the price."

"Did not like that our room on the third floor after getting off the lift required humping bags down two albeit short flights of stairs. Liked that there were lots of towels and that they let us drop our luggage until check in and again after noon check out (very civilized) It's a great location right next to Cardiff Central station so getting here and then getting to the airport was simple"

Novotel Cardiff Centre

Novotel Cardiff Centre

8/10 Good
"The family room was good, although the sofa bed is a little narrow for two teenagers. We had two nights in another budget chain prior to arriving at the Novotel, where they provide two single fold-up beds which we found to be a much better arrangement amd more comfortable for the children. The room was clean. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are excellent and were very welcome. The food in the restaurant was good, only the service being a little slow let it down. We thought the hotel parking at £24 for the day was expensive, until looking at the local multi-story alternatives that were £31 a day?! There are a few spaces on the road outside that are free between 18:00-08:00 that you can take advantage of. We would definitely stay there again."
