Several things were not available and what was served was just okay. The front desk staff are superior and they were very helpful with any questions we asked. The location makes this hotel a wonderful choice but don’t expect great food."

"The hotel was easy to find and the free car park was good. The location is good, just a short walk in to the centre of Canterbury. Staff were helpful but the hotel is a bit 'tired'. I think some refurbishing is going on as the reception area and bar looked clean and modern but the rest had shabby carpet and worn out fittings & fixtures, e.g. our shower rail (the shower was over the bath) was very rusty. However, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good."

"The former home of Lord Kitchener offers large rooms and surroundings with old times charm. Room Kimberly had a specious sitting room with fridge and a smaller bedroom with loft ceiling. Didn't have a breakfast. Tried the small gym and small swimming pool, access code changes daily. The once beautiful grounds need a bit more attention . Free parking, decent price. Highly recommended"
