Hotel is a little way out of the centre, but this is easy to get to on subway or bus. This also means it's handily placed for visiting World Trade One and ferry's on the East side. Rooms clean, staff very helpful, has pool table (free) - handy if you have teenage kids etc and there is complimentary wine up to 6 pm! As well as this you get a knock at the door every night with a freshly made cookie for everyone in the room! (nice touch)
Area is safe and no problems walking around immediate area. I would definately stay here again. Also, if you get a room above 8th floor you get a great view of surrounding area (including World Trade One - which you can walk yo in about 20 minutes).
The hotel is at the center of Chinatown. Much better compared with the surrounding. Very convinient for transportation and eating. Room is clean but a little bit loud because of the train during the night

Nice area , quite and only 10 minutes walking distance to Chinatown. Will be perfect if they provide parking or at least someone can help while arrive for check in and out because there isn't any parking spot available, other than that everything was good.
This is a really great hotel. Good location close to SoHo, West Village, Greenwich Village and Williamsburg. The hotel is very cute and clean and overall our stay was great. The hotel's restaurant was closed the entire time which was a bit of a letdown but there are plenty of places to eat and drink in NoLiTa.
The one disappointment was checkout. Their website clearly says checkout is 1pm, but they made us checkout at noon. They also charged almost 3 dollars more per bottle of water than the price stated on the mini bar list.
Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.

Wanted something more funky than the Sheraton, low key, etc. This was it--and 2 short blocks from the J train to JFK. Air conditioning was great and on the quiet side. Room on the small size--but no smaller than Sheraton Tribeca. Bathroom was better and shower/tub was fine. The only thing preventing me from 5 stars was the lack of stoppers in sink and bath--though the sink was taken care of the 2nd day of 3 day stay. For $2.00 I bought a plug for the bath, though a wash cloth did for the tub stopper. Tub itself A+. Also the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I've ever been it. If the rate doesn't go through the ceiling--very reasonable now--'I'll be back!'

Well staffed and well located - though is not in the fanciest zone of NYC. There are good bars and restaurants around. Hotel is 10 blocks from Little Italy and Soho and has a 15' subway to Times Square.
Hotel is small and has a modern atmosphere. It's clean and staff was always friendly.
Lower East Side is more hippy and probably less upscale than other nyc neighborhoods, so if you like this style, maybe the zone is right for you.

Pocket Guide: New York East Village - Lower East Side Hotels
The East Village has long been an incubator of the arts, capturing the rhythm of New York as reflected in musical and poetic verses from jazz to punk rock, from the Beats to the Nuyoricans. The neighborhood boasts Manhattan's highest concentration of bars along with diverse choices for dining and shopping as exemplified in the 3-block span of St. Mark's Place.
