We arrived around 4 pm, not sure where to go.. apparently they sent the email after we left. Luckily we found someone. She informed us that the water had some issues, the sediment in the tank was causing the water to turn brown. She asked if we still wanted to stay as the water was essentially unusable. They offered a 10% discount, and apparently no one else stayed that night. So we decided to stay. It was very nice, we got a gallon of water, used whatever bottled water we could find and made the best of it. It was nice. The bed was comfy and our overall experience was good. We are making plans to return.. I do hope they fix the water issue.. that made it a little difficult but workable. We will return it was so much better than a hotel.
An oasis in a hot desert. It was just what we wanted. Being June, there were few people there. Many of the businesses were closed for the summer, or closed at noon. We came prepared and packed a picnic lunch for both days. We loved the area and enjoyed searching out all the wonderful sculptures scattered aver several miles just outside of the downtown area.

Great hotel in general, landscaping is impeccable, staff is great.
My wife was a bit hungry and I had called front desk for some tea and sweetener, the security man came and gave us the tea etc.
I had asked if there was any food he said sorry everything is too late.
He came back about 5 minutes later and gave us a bowl of clam chowder, I was amazed....
Even though it wasn't exactly hot, he made a great effort and by the way was some of the best chowder I've ever had, even though it was cold.

The desert dominates East County. Here, wildflowers bloom in the spring at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This isolated stretch of land is California’s largest state park. Nearby, soothing mineral waters welcome visitors at a pair of hot springs, one in Jacumba and one in Agua Caliente. Nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, the historic town of Julian offers a glimpse of Gold Rush California.
