John, the host, was very welcoming and gave us detailed information about Dover and recommended various places to eat. It was a perfect location, close to Dover Castle, the White Cliffs, and the city center. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Very cute and comfortable room. Outstanding management. The gentleman that ran the hotel was very knowledgeable of the area and told us all about the local history. The hotel is walkable to the castle and the cruise port.

Our host, John is the best!

The best part about our stay was our host, John! He told us about the history of the area and recommended restaurants and a side trip to Canterbury which we didn’t have on our itinerary and was so glad we did! Thanks again John!!

Very clean, very quaint, very cute. No lift but owner/mgr carried our bags up and down our flight of stairs. No parking. Cab had to drop us off and pu on the sidewalk. Highly recommend

St. Martins Guest House was conveniently located within town and perfect for our stay in Dover. John the concierge was kind, helpful and shared his wealth of knowledge about the area and the local history. Our cruise ship was delayed for multiple days and John was able to accommodate us and saved us from having to find another place to stay in an already very full town. John was great to work with during our stay. There is no sitting space outside your room in case you arrive early or leave later and no food service option. Very close to Dover castle. Bed not that comfortable. Dated decor and the shower is literally in the room and not a separate bathroom.

The best thing about this property is its location. Its website lists it as a B and B, but there was no breakfast. The owner is not at all amenable yo early check-in or late check out, necessitating for us a 2 1/2 hour wait with no services at a cruise terminal. Additionally, neither Kleenex nor shampoo was provided. Amenities were basic.

Charming Guest House

We stayed in two rooms here for a night before joining our cruise and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. It is close to the white cliffs of Dover and Dover castle and only a mile from the port. St Martins is very well located. John, the concierge was amazing and always wanted to please. As other reviews noted, he is very knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were very clean. As others have stated St. Martins is a guest house. Rooms are small and basic and there isn't any air conditioning. If those things are important to you you are better off booking a large hotel. We felt the positives of this charming place far outweighed any of that other stuff and inexpensive at about 100 pounds a night.

The guest house was as we expected it. Nice and clean, whoever painted it over the last couple of years did a really nice job. Well positioned the everything. The pub around the corner was good to visit for a drink. We were met by John when we arrived and found him delightful to talk to. Happy to provide advice about where to go and what to see, and just generally interested in us. For our travels we caught the #15 bus to Canterbury which was nice to visit, the cathedral was undergoing renovation work so after paying our entry fee we got our money back. Did the zodiac boat ride to view the white cliffs, simply wonderful. Visited the castle which was great. Thanks John for your advice to see the Bronze Age boat- they showed a video of how it was found and retrieved, we were very impressed. I’d recommend St Martins guest house!
