Stately hotel, fine location, one major quirk
Stayed one night, and everything was fine -- apart from the quirky physical set-up for arrival by car. There is a cramped parking lot at the main entrance, with all the spaces labeled "reserved for Mr. ____" (hotel managers? long-term guests?) So, what do they expect arriving guests to do? It turned out that valet service could be arranged, and the front desk staff were friendly and scurried to help. My suggestion is that they reserve at least a couple of spaces for arriving guests and make the arrangements (valet or self-parking) more apparent via signs.
On positive notes, our room was recently renovated, large, and everything worked well. The restaurant was very pleasant for breakfast and the food was good. The location is one block from the beach -- easy walking. The indoor pool is small and feels dated, but the other public areas have been nicely renovated and the property around the hotel is pleasant.
