"Lovely relaxing break "
Had a lovely relaxing break. The food was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only thing I would change would be that we took our dog with us and we were charged £15 per night extra. Most hotels charge £5-£10

"Historic relaxing hotel"
Upon pulling through the archway you know you are in for a treat. The hotel itself is a mansion type building full of lovely antiques, fireplaces burning and romantic nooks. Our room overlooked the other building but was decorated to make you feel like a princess. The bed was gold and ornate with heavy tapestry, clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Plenty of space. The windows swung open so you could let in a nice breeze. The ruins were all around you so anywhere you went you could see something of interest. The spa was simple and a nice perk. You get a robe and flip flops as soon as you go down and change. Unfortunately we didn't use the exercise facilities as we didn't bring the right clothes, but we did remember a bathing suit so we fully enjoyed the sauna, hot tubs and the coolest rain shower. There was only one hot tub functioning at the time and it was a small wooden barrel type. But it was complimentary so one can't complain. We had a complimentary buffet breakfast which was an English type breakfast, very nice. Overall it is a very great deal for a hotel much less one that is so beautiful and with so much historic significance. Don't forget to search out the stone circle on the property.

"beautiful location "
Entrance and reception very nice and better than we expected. Location is lovely. Room was comfortable but in need of refurb as very tired and dated. TV old style portable so very out of date, flat screen on wall required for visitors who also like to kick back and relax as well as take in the local sights. Bathroom in desperate need of upgrade. Breakfast experience was not great as staff were very slow in supplying milk, bread, juice. We had to ask for almost everything on the self service. Feel that a table fully supplied with cereals, fruit, pastries etc is required.

"Lovely hotel, close to the beach."
This is a lovely hotel and very close to the beach. It was great to be able to park in the hotel's car park and walk to the town.

"Nice Hotel on Major Highway"
The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Convenient to the highway but not to the city if you wanted to go in to do something in the city. Nice breakfast.

"Comfortable but not too boutiquey!"
Having paid for the cheapest room, we were upgraded at no extra cost which was very pleasing! Room 12 was comfortable, the kitchen fan a little annoying but it went off at 10.30 thank goodness. Food very good but rather pricey. Liked the quirky old style charm that wasn't overly groomed.
