The property was satisfactory the attention to detail is not at the same level as past stays. The overall vibe was the resort was working to be mediocre. It is a shame because the staff works hard to overcome the corporate lack of commitment. Hopefully as Holiday Inn discovers what a jewel the Royal Resort Brand is they will embrace their past.

Firstly, this is a time-share complex so expect the usual requests (I won't say hassel because I've seen far worse) to attend one of their many presentations. Their are agents at the front desk, all vying for your business to buy into their vision or buy one of their many excursions. - cheaper if you do it yourself online. Secondly, if you have the all-inclusive package, like us, then you need to be aware of some extra charges. What the front desk won't tell you, not everything is free, there are premium drinks and food you may accidently request which are then charged to your card, initial deposit of $4000 peso retained on check-in. There is also a massive tipping culture at the resort, I guess this is a reminent of the predominate Yanks that stay/live there, they like tipping. Every time you sit down to have a meal, they will ask for your room card and at the end it is returned with a receipt you have to sign. Now be careful here as the receipt allows you to add a tip for the service. DO NOT just sign the receipt, cross out the section where the tip can be added because believe me this can be filled in later without your knowledge. ALWAYS ask for the yellow copy of the receipt and keep safe if you need to rely on it later. We just tipped in cash at the end and made sure the tipping section of the receipt was crossed out,if you don't tip, don't expect a great service. In terms of food, eat only at the La-Veranda and Sports bar, the gimich Bar Bistro and Sisal were poor.

The staff was amazing! We loved our room and the pools. The food could have been a little better. Definitely some more vegetarian options. I couldn't believe I couldn't find vegetarian beans! Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and we would definitely return.

Overall good experience. The beach was no good due to a ton of seaweed and the current was strong. We were able to take the shuttle to the sister property Royal Cancun where there was a nice beach area. Pool was great! Room was clean. Staff were great! The elevator broke but they got it fixed quickly. The air conditioning went out for a whole day but was back on by night time same day. My tv signal went out once but they fixed that immediately as well. The room service would be the only real complaint I have. If you order after 1030 pm it takes over an hour and the food was cold. The food options were okay.

Been coming here now for 8 years. Staff is always lovely. Food is good, although I find the room service menu is very limited and there’s just no adult party fun to have on the resort so we found ourselves bored.

Bed is so hard & bedsheets are poor & rough quality. I barely slept at all. Property has aged. Service is so & so. Food quality is mediocre nothing really impressive in taste. Service staff gives you a feeling of tip expectations not all smiles & attentiveness. For All inclusive property they lack the availability of well stocked drinks & snacks in the room or anywhere in the lobby or area. Not much food choices except La Veranda on specific times. They skimp on providing the necessities unless you asked. Even housekeeping they skimp on towels & toiletries. However I love the location, the pool which a bit deep for shorter people they should make it under 5ft in certain areas. Swim up bar staff are better than others. Hacienda Sisal is nothing to brag about, mediocre food quality. Overall I rate this place 2 star. Not where I will repeat for All inclusive resorts. Most likely will not return or refer to anyone.

The staff was amazing. I only had a problem on my way back. Two taxi staff members who picked me up from the hotel were extremely rude and aggressive. They wouldn't let me use the transportation I'd purchased when I arrived at the airport. They said they weren't allowed to pick up any customer and wanted me to pay for their transportation to the airport. I told them to call the police because one of the taxi drivers got so aggressive and rude that he took the keys from the person there to pick me up. I recorded the incident because it was out of control. They should let customers choose their own transportation.
