Lovely stay
This is a real gem of a property. It is clean and well maintained and is in a stunning location with a beautiful beer garden. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. We were only there for one night but would love to return for a longer stay in the summer.

Great place to stay
As usual, can't fault my stay at The Baron. I tend to go out of my way in order to stay here. There are so many little touches which makes them stand out. Yet again I had to have 3 courses at dinner due to the quality and the real ale was top drawer so I had to have 3! I must have stayed here a dozen times over the years and the breakfast is always 10/10. This was emphasised by owner Phil who told me that his wife Debra did my poached eggs 3 times before being satisfied and sending it out!

The welcome was faultless and the staff were all super helpful. The location was beautiful and the rooms outstandingly clean. Had a fantastic meal and good wine for dinner at the restaurant. Would definitely return for another short stay.

Excellent hotel in a picturesque setting. Friendly welcoming hosts. Very comfy rooms with good facilities. Excellent wi-fi connection in rooms. Excellent freshly cooked food (including breakfast) in an atmospheric restaurant. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break

Nice enough, but hot tub in room 5 just means jacuzzi in the bath, they said lots of people make this mistake! (Maybe make website clearer then?). Shower initially didnt work, till they got new shower head, although they seemed already aware of the problem when we told them just hadnt fixed it? Room much too hot despite fan and overlooked car park so with window open, no privacy. A juliette balcony consists of bars over window not a balcony so not sure why this was advertised. Not worth £154 a night with breakfast. Very clean though, food lovely especially breakfast and waiting staff were lovely too, couldnt do enough for us 🙂. They also kindly posted back left belongings for free.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased that you found our hotel very clean’ and enjoyed Debra’s delicious food. As a family run hotel, we do our very best to maintain the highest possible standards. We are sorry that your room was not as you expected it to be. You thought you had booked a garden room with a hot tub, but you had actually booked our superior room 5 in the inn. All our rooms are described as accurately as possible with photos and a virtual tour of each room. When you book, you are choosing the actual room you want to stay in. On the Expedia website (where you booked) they do not have the option for ‘Whirpool bath’, the nearest bullet point description they have is a ‘jetted tub’, which 2 people in the last 10 years have mistaken this to mean Hot Tub. We do try to make this clear in the room description text. The problem with the shower was not known to us and we replaced the shower unit as soon as you brought it to our attention. I think everyone in the UK found their bedroom too hot last Friday as temperatures reached a record 37.8 degrees in the UK and I am afraid we do not have air conditioning, just fans.

Lovely stay in a lovely hotel. High quality food at both evening meal and at breakfast, rooms are spotlessly clean and of a high standard, very well maintained. Quiet location and wifi is excellent (50Mb+)

Not a bad thing to say about this hidden country gem! It was perfect as you feel out in the country away from normal busy life, yet you have everything you need around you! I have never been to a more equipped place! The luxury garden rooms had everything you needed and I mean everything! I would definitely recommend staying here and we will be back soon to see it again in the summer:)

The Peacefull Baron.
We loved our relaxing stay at The Baron. The room was well appointed, very comfortable and very clean. The owners and staff were lovely and service was very good. We enjoyed two evening meals here (much better then the average pub food) and breakfast was very good. There is a wonderful view of the hills from the pretty beer garden behind the inn. Highly recommended and we would return.

Brilliant stay in a beautiful location, the hotel has been tastefully refurbishing and offers a great getaway location. The food looks to use local ingredients and the breakfast is a great show of local produce!

just a lovely stay
We have stayed around this area a few times now but this little gem of a find tops the lot. We had a garden room which is spacious well designed bit of luxury with care having been taken on even the smaller details. The hot tub and decking is just a bonus but what a bonus. It was snowing and just getting dark but all was ready and prepared and it was a treat. The food wine drinks and welcome matched. We will return again and again

Lovely location
Lovely place in gorgeous location. Well appointed room (2) with beautiful bathroom. Shower was a little weak, but hot. We ate at the restaurant in the evening and the burgers were lovely, the pizza very nice looking but would have preferred a little more depth of flavour in the base sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast.

Thank you for your feedback. The Grohe showers in our rooms have an economy setting which you can override by pressing the button on the shower control. I am pleased you enjoyed our homemade burger and will take onboard your comments about the pizza sauce.

A gem in beautiful countryside
This was our second stay at the Baron & we were not disappointed. Breakfast & dinner were excellent & we had a lovely spacious room with a larger than average bathroom. As the hotel is not large, we were made to feel very welcome on a personal level by Phil the host & we will definitely be staying there again when in the area.

The baron was lovely only a few rooms so felt a bit more personal. The room was a good size and very well laid out loved the jet bath and the view was great. Food was great good choice at both breakfast and dinner

Excellent hotel.
We only stayed for one night but plan to return for a longer visit. The new lodges and natural pool look to be wonderful. The room and amenities were excellent. I cannot fault the dinner - choices, cooking and taste. The breakfast was more than enough. My only negative comment would be the bed. For some reason it sloped to the head end making you feel like you was tipping backwards. That aside it was comfortable.

Everything about The Baron is fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming, lovely rooms, loads of character. It's the best combination of great hotel standards and homeliness. The food is amazing. Everything really good value. We would love to come back here.

Top marks for The Baron
The Baron is located in a quiet village on the Welsh borders and serves cask ale and home cooked food. It is ideally located for local walks and the Phil Price Rally School. The food was top notch and Phil was the perfect front of house host. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
