Terrible hotel, avoid like the plague!

Posted 20-Aug-2017
Booked for 7 nights but checked out on the first night. In summary, the following list describes my experience of this hotel: Drunks, karaoke, chavs, grotty rooms, seagulls, violent disorder, broken lift, cigarette smoke in non-smoking areas, outdated furniture, grubby/torn furnishings, fused bulbs. This hotel is a disgrace to the UK tourist industry and should not be allowed to call itself a 'hotel' let alone a 'castle'. Take my advice and AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Old hotel needs updating

Posted 18-Aug-2017
The hotel is massive and has plenty of car parking spaces. You can get cheap rooms depending on when you book. It serves a purpose and has a team stop outside for ease of getting down the main parts of Blackpool. Our room was really warm without the heating on so had to have the windows open all night but this meant dealing with the noise outside. Room was dated but ok for the 1 night we stayed. There's is enetertainment on at night but we didn't experience that and the hotel also has a pool.

This hotel has a lot of potential but needs a big refurb.Only 1 lift was working so ppl couldn't get to top floor without loads of stairs and the windows need a desperate cleaning, but on a plus side the staff were friendly & helpful

Absolutely disgusting place

Posted 06-Aug-2017
Pros: Not at thing
Cons: The full hotel
Where do I start !!! The place smells of dampness from the second you go through the door!! We were greeted by a young mum who's kids iPads had been stolen along with other items from her belongings she was hysterical with not 1 member of staff taking any notice of her which I found disgusting!!!!! Then were where shown our rooms to which were also stinking of dampness with no window or any ventilation in them the full hotel is Very dated and anyone who says otherwise is telling lies we did try and get a refund as we wouldn't let our dog stay there never mind our son Stay Well Away.......

Mix up on arrival with rooms.

Posted 05-Aug-2017
Shabby, carpets grubby. Heater disgusting full of muck! Reception staff never answered phone when I rang! Had to resort to phoning on hotel main number!! Towels were a problem, they could not replenish them as they were not dry! Locals call the hotel Fawlty Towers or Colditz!! We were on floor 5 and there was only one lift!! We waited quite a lot to get to and from our room.

Pros: The staff try hard to be friendly and helpful
Cons: Everything the hotel is in vast need of a major upgrade
Location: Easy and quick access to Blackpool attractions is the only thing going for this hotel
This hotel is dirty, outdated, old fashioned in vast need of upgrade and cleaning. The layout is poor with limited access or signage. The breakfast is expensive for what's on offer. The room was not hoovered in the 3 nights we stayed. The linen was dirty, there was stains on the carpet and dark damp patches on the walls.

Rooms are awful & require updating we witnessed & spoke to countless guests complaining about the conditions they were staying in...
