Excellent time staying at the Double Tree. I had the perfect room as Table Mountain was right in front of me. Lovely attentive staff members and peace environment oh of course delicious food. I'll definitely be staying again perfect location and free bus to the Waterfront V & A.

Room 61 at the hotel is particularly charming, situated over two floors, and with its own secluded rear garden. It has a very 'homely' feel to it. One evening, as we left our room to dine in the hotel restaurant, the door security latch fell off (I know it's not supposed too...). We placed it to one side, and I was going to report this the following day. To my surprise, the security latch had been replaced by the time we returned later that evening. Perfect spot, very central, staff are great, car parking available. Included breakfast was fab, both continental and cooked and you have a great view of Table Mountain while you have it. Rooms very comfortable and despite overlooking the car park and piazza, was surprisingly quiet. They had turn down service so we came back after night out to closed curtains, air con on and bottles of water beside the beds, which was a lovely touch. Gorgeous George is a fantastic hotel. Nice location for the CBD, Company Gardens, various of the museums etc. The hotel has wonderful character, its full of art and crazy collections of things. Brilliant hotel. The Airstreams on the roof are brilliant. Romantic, charming and just plain fun. We stayed in them for 4 nights and then tried a room downstairs for a 5th night and that was just lovely too. Excellent hotel right on the beach front, plenty of options for food and drink within easy walking distance. Only slight down point was the swimming pool was extremely cold & was too cold to get in.
