It was the closest to the NEC but lacked comfort.

Posted 23-Nov-2015
Pros: The only thing that was positive was the quality of the food.
Cons: If you cannot see where from my experience, then maybe you should chose another career.
Location: I picked the location for the close access for the NEC. It is not near anything else of interest as far as I'm concerned.
On arrival I found that receptionist mixed up my bookings. Extra charge to park in the car park was a surprise. The room I was given had very poor lighting, so much so there were dark areas in the room. I had found I had a bathroom designed for someone with disabilities. no bath and a frame around the shower area with a folded up seat which gave less room in the shower in which you had to avoid knocking against when turning around. Internet access was charged extra and when using it was a weak signal to which it would drop out at times. So many added charges for so little. The TV was absolutely terrible. It was honestly like having a 1970's analogue TV. The picture was very poor only around 8 channels to which most were news channels unless you pay more again. Over all the fact that this is called The Hilton, it was more like Norman Bate's Motel. I chose this was I expect it to follow it's name and have a little luxury but I will never use it again and will not recommend it to anyone. Should have stayed at the Premier Inn as that was my original choice until i thought i would spoil myself here. How wrong I was.

Very nice hotel, well situated for NEC.

Only thing that lets it down is the long wait for meals in the lounge , executive lounge and in-room service.

Close to NEC which we were attending a show

Posted 09-Nov-2015
Pros: The pool was very nice
Cons: External doors in rooms need attention , parking should be free for paying guests. Attention to detail should be made priority.
Location: Very convenient for the NEC which is within walking distance.
Checked in with ease . Rooms were ok but there was an awful draft from the veranda door. No flannels in bathroom to wash children and only 1 tablet of soap. Wi fi was not available in our room for whatever reason , my daughter who was 6 rooms from us was able to get it . Not what you expect from this class of hotel. Overal I think this hotel is overpriced for what you get . The most annoying thing is the parking charge which is £9 per night for guests .

Terrible Breakfast

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: The Hilton Sign
Cons: Breakfast
Breakfast at this hotel is one of the worst I have tasted, Orange Juice tasted very cheap, Scrambled egg tasted like shredded paper, Hotel staff did not help me with the luggage upon arrival, In my opinion a very poor Hilton Hotel with very little good points.

Good and bad points

Posted 01-Nov-2015
Car parking £9 per day. Spend over £150 a night and then pay for parking. Not a 4 star hotel. A little grubby in places, dodgy lifts. Breakfast buffet was the best ever.

Nice hotel with lots of friendly staff

Posted 19-Oct-2015
Pros: A lot of big rooms for the convention were very good. The swimming pool is also really very nice!
Cons: The hotel is very large, perhaps a map or signposts that are easier for first time visitors to understand.
Location: I personally didn't leave the hotel all weekend due to the convention, but a friend of mine went to the bullring and had a fabulous time!
I went to this hotel for the Asylum 15 convention, and both the convention and the hotel were lovely! I had a fabulous weekend and am planning on coming again!

Hotel close to NEC

Posted 16-Oct-2015
Pros: Near NEC
Cons: 1. Room maintenance 2. Ensure no strange odours in rooms before putting people in them 3. Train restaurant staff more to ensure people are served
Location: NEC right next door
Overall I was rather disappointed with my stay at this Hilton hotel. The first room was clean but the window/door was broken and wouldn't close properly so rattled and allowed cold draft/noise into room. Reception changed the room and our second room had strange odour and the telephone wasn't working. Not what you expect for supposedly a delux room! With the delays we could only get a table in restaurant at 21:15 and tried for room service but they said at 20:30hrs that it would take 1 hour before food could be delivered. The restaurant staff on first night were very poor, disorganized and for whatever reason "missing in action" even though they weren't busy. This was because the room relocation and phone problems saga ended up having us eating at 21:15 (earliest slot available) and after getting menus we were left for eternity without taking our order. In end I had to chase down a waitress to take the order. The hotel staff were polite and addressed my displeasure with 20% discount on room rate

Pros: Reception area was nice enough
Cons: A new bathroom
Very tired room really. For a high cost a night, that is expensive for an average room with the bathroom being poor. WiFi not working even though an HH member - all very frustrating.
