Beautiful building lovely grounds tired inside

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Setting for hotel is glorious as are the grounds and building. Inside it's a little shabby, mattress has seen better days, bed was double rather than king size or queen size in huge room, breakfast was buffet... all a little tired out. What a pity

Nice Hotel in Quiet Location

Posted 06-Apr-2017
Pros: The quiet location that was really close to my meeting.
Cons: Soundproofing in the rooms in the outbuilding. I could hear people above and next door using the loo and shower. Accept Amex onsite.
This hotel is in a great location just outside of Reigate. It enabled me to battle through the traffic the day before my meeting and drive a quick 15 minutes into Reigate in the morning. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and the evening meal and breakfast I ate there was very good. All areas were tastefully decorated, clean and to a high standard. I would happily stay here again as the room and food were well priced and with free ample parking and wifi you can't go wrong. Just pay in advance on Expedia if using Amex as they don't accept it there which is annoying.

The hotel online is really deceiving to what it actually is. The outside is lovely and the grounds. But the inside is terrible and the staff don't tell you anything. I will be trying to a full refund on this hotel. We only stayed one night and was terrible.

Old world charm, modern facilities.

Pretty good all around. Only small number of rooms are in the old building but accommodation is good as isthe general level of amenities and facilities.

A great alternative to an airport hotel (Gatwick).

Posted 19-Feb-2017
Pros: We liked the historic building, the setting and the location.
Cons: Interior decoration could have more historic character.
Location: Theres not much to do nearby except to rest and enjoy the idyllic English countryside.
The historic manor house and surrounding park are both lovely. The location is 1/2 hour from Gatwick and provides a refreshing break from travel in the English countryside.

Was given a room not in the original building, cleaner was still doing room after we had checked in - TV not working properly - although they said they were being done next week - no milk in room for coffee (didn't notice until the next morning) staff very friendly, was disappointed with food in restaurant, as expected it to be more fine dinning, we had anti pasti starter, and seemed the meat came from a packet.

Standard three star hotel

Posted 13-Dec-2016
Pros: The hotel was very nice as a function venue.
Cons: The cleanliness and lighting in the bathroom.
Location: We were not staying as tourists but visiting family who live in the area.
The Hartfield is a standard three star hotel and for what we paid it was OK. I think it is primarily a function venue, not catering for travellers. When we arrived there was a wedding party, which was OK until we went to bed and kept awake by the very loud music. The bathroom was not up to my standard of cleanliness and the lighting in the bathroom was totally inadequate. I do not think we will stay there again as we feel that we had been allocated an inferior room because we had booked through expedia.

Hotel was very nice, however the bed was only small and the TV could not be turned into the correct channels.

was very disappointed with this hotel we have stayed in many places this was the worst experience, We could not check-in on time due to a wedding party so we had to come back after 6pm, Warning this hotel caters mostly for functions and corporate functions. Breakfast no better sat down at 8:30 by time we were told it was help yourself it was 9. at 9:30 we had to leave as they were setting up dining area for corporate function. had to leave breakfast and half a cup of coffee, OVOID THIS PLACE, I was waiting for Basil Fawlty to make an appearance comical
