Excellent from arrival until my departure. Fantastic food and the staff were as usual friendly and accommodating. This is one of my favourite place to stay when down south on business
Hotel lovely and staff very friendly but rooms were dated our bedroom tv didn't work, bathroom was shaby and went to use jacuzzi bath and all black dirt came out of it.
Having a long weekend in Devon but decided to get away on Thursday night to avoid the journey round the M25 from Kent on Friday morning. It meant we could have a relaxed start and make it for lunch to Devon. Hotel was clean and staff helpful unusually for a motorway hotel the parking is quite distant ...
The Parkside is a very reasonably priced hotel and in a quiet location. It is within walking distance of the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only negative comment would be that the breakfast was very disappointing.
Only stayed for one night. The room was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a bit softer than I like. The staff were very friendly and polite. There was a fairly good buffet breakfast selection and a full English breakfast menu included in the price. I would be happy to stay there again.
From Barkham to Catmore, the historic county of Berkshire affords plenty of opportunities to let you and your four legged friend off the lead. There are lots of countryside and woodland walks to be discovered, meadows to meander through and river paths to follow. Why not race up Walbury Hill, the tallest hill in south east England and where an Iron Age hill fort was once sited, find the River Kennet and see where it leads, or head to Sulham Woods in Tilehurst? The countryside of Berkshire is quintessentially English, while pet-friendly hotel owners in Berkshire will always give you advice and tips on the best places to explore.
The Royal County of Berkshire has an enviable pedigree. Runnymede is a beautiful water meadow that forms part of the Thames Path. Runnymede is the riverside site where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Relax by the river, take part in a guided walk or visit the Magna Carta memorial and reflect on 800 years of democracy, Runnymede is the perfect place for pondering or wandering. Windsor Great Park was once part of a huge Norman hunting forest and is now 2020 hectares of ancient woodland, exotic gardens and sweeping parkland. Stroll down the Long Walk toward Windsor Castle or stumble across the Totem Pole, gifted to the Queen in 1958 by the people of Canada. Elsewhere, Wellington Country Park near Reading is a magnificent country park with 350 acres of woodlands, nature trails and a lake. There's plenty of adventure and play areas for young children, an animal farm and even a human snakes and ladders game to be played on the hill. A pet-friendly hotel stay in the county of Berkshire is a wonderfully refreshing and invigorating break.
