Arrived, was given key, and it didn't work. Also noted that next door room had loud radio/tv. Went back to reception, asked for another room and said about non-working key. New room immediately assigned, and new key worked ok. I made a mistake because I realised after booking that I couldn't easily ...

We had a nice stay for a friend's birthday party. Room was huge and bed was very comfy but there were a lot of stains on the white carpet which made the room look quite shabby. We couldn't get the radio to work at all. However the heating was good and staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast ...

Although the staff were pleasant and the room was good enough i was not impressed by the hotel in general. The spa was good with good facilities. But in general the hotel lacked that something that would make me recommend it to a friend.

Pocket Guide: Pet-Friendly Hotels in Berkshire

From Barkham to Catmore, the historic county of Berkshire affords plenty of opportunities to let you and your four legged friend off the lead. There are lots of countryside and woodland walks to be discovered, meadows to meander through and river paths to follow. Why not race up Walbury Hill, the tallest hill in south east England and where an Iron Age hill fort was once sited, find the River Kennet and see where it leads, or head to Sulham Woods in Tilehurst? The countryside of Berkshire is quintessentially English, while pet-friendly hotel owners in Berkshire will always give you advice and tips on the best places to explore.

Exploring Berkshire

The Royal County of Berkshire has an enviable pedigree. Runnymede is a beautiful water meadow that forms part of the Thames Path. Runnymede is the riverside site where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Relax by the river, take part in a guided walk or visit the Magna Carta memorial and reflect on 800 years of democracy, Runnymede is the perfect place for pondering or wandering. Windsor Great Park was once part of a huge Norman hunting forest and is now 2020 hectares of ancient woodland, exotic gardens and sweeping parkland. Stroll down the Long Walk toward Windsor Castle or stumble across the Totem Pole, gifted to the Queen in 1958 by the people of Canada. Elsewhere, Wellington Country Park near Reading is a magnificent country park with 350 acres of woodlands, nature trails and a lake. There's plenty of adventure and play areas for young children, an animal farm and even a human snakes and ladders game to be played on the hill. A pet-friendly hotel stay in the county of Berkshire is a wonderfully refreshing and invigorating break.
