Loved the property ,which was beautifully situated in a delightful peaceful village .There were several great places to eat nearby ,and an easy park and ride journey into York. The breakfast was superb .
A v.quirky hotel but great fun! Hotel staff & owner friendly & helpful. Breakfast was continental and limited. We enjoyed our stay & would stay again.
Lovely setting by duck pond.Chickens roaming freely. Eric was very welcoming to us and our dog. Rooms not huge but full of character.
Lovely location and great base for York and Scarborough. Not sure what other glamping is like but it suited our purpose for 3 nights. Took sleeping bags which we put under sheet on kids camp beds (advice in previous comments) which was really good as cold on 2 nights. No real facilities for campers ...
Beautiful cottage on a farm. Great staff
Great location to park and ride, shop, pub, and to get to car hire return location - all accomplished with great directions from friendly host. Substantial cooked breakfast, and room with its own lounge.
North Yorkshire is one of the United Kingdom's premier holiday destinations, promising a medley of stunning stately homes, historic towns and cities, and outstanding natural beauty. From the enchanting centre of York to the gushing waterfalls and rolling hills of rural Yorkshire, this is a county with plenty to offer. Among North Yorkshire's foremost tourist attractions is Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, a spectacular property located north-west of York. Located in a popular part of the county, there are plenty of great places to stay nearby.
Completed in 1716, Beningbrough Hall is a fabulous example of Georgian architecture. The symmetrical design is both imposing and grand, while the redbrick finish offers a European touch. The main attraction inside the property is the vast art collection. Beningbrough Hall houses more than 100 historical portraits, the bulk of which are on loan from the prestigious National Portrait Gallery.
It's not just the property itself which lures in so many guests to Beningbrough Hall. The site also comprises some magnificent walled gardens. Among woodland and lawns, there's plenty to see and do around the grounds. Visitors can enjoy a gentle stroll along the river, taking in the wide variety of plants and wildlife on display. There's an impressive play area for kids, all built around an exciting central fort. There's also a restaurant, shop and garden centre on the site. Parking is free.
As the largest county in the UK and one of the country's most-visited holiday destinations, it's no surprise that there are plenty of fine hotels in North Yorkshire. Visitors can pick from family-run B&Bs, self-catering apartments and luxurious, rural spa hotels.
Those looking for an affordable place to stay near Beningbrough can check out The Sidings. The hotel is located in Shipton and offers a truly unique experience. The complex is built around a number of vintage railway carriages, giving a special feel.
The centre of York isn't far away, offering all kinds of accommodation. The Brentwood Guesthouse boasts a peaceful location on the edge of town, as well as free WiFi and a delicious breakfast.
