"Decent place to stay and good value for money so would recommend. No car parking which is made clear so no argument with that, however it’s worth being aware that Ambleside is busy so I ended up parking some distance away. Only negative would be the 8am breakfast time, as it was too late, so had to miss out both days. Annoyingly, the Ambleside in which is 100m away and owned by the same group is 7.30am which would have worked. Overall a decent place though"

"Overall a good place to stay. The rooms were very hot. But minor maintenance issues: mirror light did not work ( no bulb) Toilet difficult to flush Tv repeatedly lost signal"

"An elegant comfortable building opposite the park. We had a quiet room (2) at the back of the building with an opening single glazed sash window. No view but we knew that and were grateful for the upgrade to be away from any traffic noise. There was a recess with a rail for hanging clothes but no drawers which would have been useful, but there was a suitcase stand. Free parking. Reception was efficient, helpful and friendly. Good wifi. The ladies serving at breakfast, Joanna & Jan, were delightful and very friendly. The over bath shower handset holder wouldn’t stay still but otherwise it was good. There was a soap recess on the basin – a rarity on modern sinks, but no hooks in the bathroom for hanging clothes. A big mirror had a shaving point beside it. There was a radiator in the bedroom but the heated towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work. The grouting between the floor tiles was messy. The room was nicely decorated with a decent double bed with sockets either side. It had a kettle, tea, coffee etc. Breakfast offerings included cereals, fruits, yoghurts, ham, cheese, cakes(!) and a choice of cooked items. Rooms were only serviced on request which was fine. There was a reassuring recent fire alarm system which went off when someone opened the bathroom door after showering before the steam had cleared but not sure if the escape route plan in our room was up to date. Our bathroom had a good extractor fan. The TV worked without difficulty. Remarkably good value for money."

"The hotel is lovely, well situated and very clean. Staff were few but very pleasant Spa was ok, but pool not very big Food was high quality and well presented Booked on line for restaurant, but no record of bookings when we checked in. All in all 7out of 10"
