What's not to like!

Our visit was superb from start to finish. Great location. Room was immaculate, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast tasty and ample. The hosts were friendly, very approachable, couldn't do enough for us. Can't recommend Brantfell enough. We'll definitely be back.

Property was excellent. Double room was spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was good and the property is in a great location in Ambleside with access to many walks. Hosts were so friendly and gave us tips on where to eat, we would definitely stay here again!

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The hosts were fantastic – attentive and welcoming – and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and tidy, though a little on the small side. Parking was straightforward, which made the experience even more convenient.

This was our first stay at this property which was very conveniently located within Ambleside. We were warmly welcomed at the properly and had a lovely room, very comfortable and smart. There was plenty of space to store clothes and the bathroom and other room. I have only left off a rating for the Eco-friendliness because I wasn’t really paying attention to this aspect of our stay so isn’t really fair to rate. I didn’t observe anything eco-unfriendly at the property. Our room facilities were excellent. Our hosts were very knowledgeable of the local area and gave us some useful help and advice as well as being very friendly. Breakfast was excellent also. Will definitely visit again.

A lovely comfortable stay at Brantfell House, super clean and I loved the attention to detail re the beautiful decor. The breakfasts were superb as was the packed lunch! Would certainly recommend here to stay as it was also in a central location in Ambleside.

Fantastic short break.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay. The location in Ambleside is perfect, as it’s only a short walk into town with plenty of choices to eat and drink. There are some fantastic walks straight from the house, or an easy drive. Mandy and Ade are brilliant hosts - the breakfasts are superb and you can’t beat local knowledge for walks, or food and drink. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our stay at Brantfell House. Adie and Mandy made us feel super welcome from the moment we stepped into the apartment. Adie is super knowledgeable about the area and gives good tips for things to do, while Mandy whips up delicious breakfasts. The room is spacious and great too. Highly recommended and we hope to be back soon!

We highly recommend Brantfell House if you're in Ambleside. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the water pressure great. The breakfasts were very good - from cold choices like fruit and yogurt to traditional hot breakfasts. Adie and Mandy were friendly and helpful. A perfect site for doing beautiful walks in the area.

The hosts of Brantfell house were the best. They were friendly, helpful, warm and did their best to make sure we didn’t need anything. They provided helpful information about things to do during the day, packed us a delicious lunch, and made us a delicious made-to-order breakfast. Thank you Adie and Mandy.

Lovely stay - would definitely recommend/return!

Brantfell House was very clean and very comfortable. The room is cosy but big enough for a couple with a large suitcase. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, providing local recommendations and banter. They offer a packed lunch for a reasonable price if you're going hiking, and the breakfast was home cooked and yum. I really liked some of the tiny thoughtful touches, like providing a dark coloured face washer specifically labelled "Makeup Remover". There was lots of thought put into the stay here!

Amazing stay in the Lake District

We had an amazing 3 night stay in the Lake District at Brantfell House. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly providing plenty of helpful information during our stay as well as delicious breakfasts. One excellent bonus was the bag lunches they prepared for us for a small fee. These were excellent during our exploration of the lake district saving us the time (and considerable expense) of finding restaurants for lunch. Our room was quite comfortable and nicely decorated. Brantfell house was well located and in easy walking distance to many restaurants and pubs in Ambleside.

Stay Brantfell House July 2022

I am a Gold Member at Hotels.com & never leave reviews on the many hotels I stay at across Europe each week. However I just felt I had to give Brantfell House a glowing report for other travellers thinking of visiting this wonderful small hotel/guest house. From the minute we arrived for my first vacation in a year the hosts Mandy and Adi made us so welcome with free parking pass at several car parks across the region an added bonus. The bedroom was to a very high standard in cleanliness and facilities plus the bathroom was exceptionally clean with a great power shower too. Breakfasts were brilliant and kept us going all day until dinner time. I would thoroughly recommend Brantfell House to couples, groups or individuals, you won’t be disappointed.
