The most famous creatures here are the flocks of bright pink flamingoes. You’ll also see crabs, tidal fish and glass shrimp trapped in rock pools, as well as glowing fireflies visible once the sun goes down. Al Khor Island has a long and fascinating history. Its archaeological finds go back 4,000 years. The island was named after the precious purple dye that was once made from the murex snails that inhabit the coast. Look carefully and you’re still likely to find many of these ancient snail shells. Outdoor adventures abound on the island. Rent a kayak and spend the afternoon paddling through the rich mangroves looking for flamingoes and other birds or enjoy hours at the beach splashing in the calm, clear waters. When the tide is out, grab a net and set off to see what you can find in this natural aquarium. Choose from lovely hikes or try beginner-level rock climbing. Sea views from the limestone rock are worth the effort. Travel by car to Al Khor Island in Shaqiq Bay near the town of Al Khor on the eastern coast of Qatar, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Doha. The trip here takes about 1 hour. The island itself isn’t accessible by car but you can wade through knee-deep water to reach it. It was hard to communicate in english but for the most part things were okay . As for the cleanliness , the couches were not clean , the mattress was very hard to sleep on and there were no iron board , iron or hair dryer (we had to ask for them). The place is surrounded by construction , we could hear some noise on the third floor. The road was mostly closed due to construction so we had to find a path around the hotel to take the high way. Lusail city is very beautiful .there are a-lot of land marks and food options . We enjoyed our time touring the city.
