"A beautiful period coaching inn with wonderful views. The staff were amazing, friendly & dedicated to ensuring our stay was pleasurable. For the elderly it is worth mentioning that there is no lift, which makes access to the upper floors somewhat challenging. We found the diner menu somewhat limited & unvarying, but this did not detract from our overall experience sufficiently to completely mar our stay. This is the only reason we cannot give te hotel an overall 5 star rating."

The lady on reception personally escorted us to our room upon arrival and the restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about the menu. "Last minute booking and what a great little find. Room was spacious and beds comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Shower was pretty low pressure but got us all clean and in all we had a great stay. Location is brilliant, 10 mins walk to the beach and 15/20 mins walk into Whitby centre. Only downside is no breakfast available but plenty of places in Whitby for this. "
