Had a lovely night in the Marrakesh Suite, could have done with a few little touch ups e.g tiles fixed on the bath. The sauna didnt work but as if was late we didn't look for the owners to ask them about it. They were also not there at checkout to tell. Although this wasn't a big issue as we had the jacuzzi bath. On arrival we could tell the room had been thoroughly cleaned and smelled of cleaning products. Overall a lovely stay!

We arrived at 130 in the afternoon to check in when we turned up the man run across the road bare foot no shoes or socks on not a very good way to greet people on check in but oh well cut to the chase any way we went into the room and put our bags in had quick look around opened a window cause the room was red hot the blind fell off as I opened the window so anyway we went into Whitby for the day while the weather was nice we came back to the hotel around 6pm got changed went back out for a bit of tea arrived back at hotel at 730 turned the jacuzzi on then realised a load of black hairs appearing around the bath and down below hairs on the side so we rang the women and she come into the room she said she doesn’t see a problem it must just be off the cloth what the cleaner has used as I said why would you use a cloth what was full of hairs it’s filthy disgusting scruffy thing to do that’s how I feel about it anyways would never ever do that she said there is no problem it’s. a few hairs she couldn’t see any issue as I stated I was never gonna stop in there after I’d seen the bath imagine how unclean other places in the room was the women wasn’t happy she said her rooms are clean me and my husband said obviously not if there is hairs all over the jacuzzi in other words she might as well of said the cleNer used the same cloth for everywhere in the room which is disgusting to me it should be immaculate and clean regardless and especially with covid! They wore no masks either

My husband and I arrived to find no one to check us in, there were 2 contact numbers at the reception which we phoned, however both numbers were unavailable. We noticed some roofers repairing the roof of the building and asked them if they knew if anyone was around to help us, they told us to knock on the door of the first house to the building. Once we did find the wife of the owner who then had to find the mother of the owner to give us the key to our room we were taken to it. We had booked a one night stay in the Cape Town room and thank goodness it was only one night. There was no ventilation in the room, all windows were stuck shut, there were flies that had no escape, mould on the walls, cobwebs.. The mattress was the most uncomfortable we have ever laid on, every spring could be felt - a mattress topper is needed!, the quilt cover was very worn and had a strange smell. The rug on the floor was very dangerous and slippy. I have not had to write a review like this before and want the owner to take this feedback as constructive criticism to enable future guests to benefit
