"We were initially disappointed with the room as it was much smaller than it appears to be from photos of the room, but after the wife found that the shower door was hanging off, we were quickly upgraded to one of the Junior suites which were excellent and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and the inside of the building is very impressible old fashioned but grandeous. The food was ok but nothing special and the price was ok."

"Overall good, however we didn't like the policy where GBP 30 deposit was collected from us at the time of check in. We had prepaid for the room and nowhere in the app was this mentioned. If Hotels start this practice I think it will leave a bad impression overall. If the hotel is worried about something, charging all customers 30 GBP at checkin as a contingency is not the answer. They need to look at what other policies or other measures that can be taken instead of inconveniencing all...

"Our stay at the Churchill hotel was perfect. Clean and well presented. Comfortable and cosy. Close to the city and a pleasant walk to the station. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A great choice. "

"Great location wise and easy walk into the main town good size room, well decorated with well stocked mini bar 😊 Would recommend, only downside was we were in the room downstairs (basement) so view out of windows was not good. "

"There was a wedding at the venue and although we couldn't hear the music from the disco the persistent thump from the bass was not good, as it was apparent all evening until midnight. Even with the tv on it could be heard vibrating through the room"

"Room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Bed very soft. Breakfast good. Had evening meal, daily carvery. Food only lukewarm and vegetables overcooked. Staff were attentive and did offer to warm my dinner up. Think the chef could tske actions to improve food by cooking vegetables in smaller amounts to maintain freshness. Dining toom rather chilly. "

"The whole place is stunning, staff are friendly & very helpful. Stayed here a few times & has been great every time. Sports bar is normally great for food & drinks, only thing I could possibly complain about was the lack of options for food in The Bunker. They ran out of Pizzas on my last visit & it was basically a choice of a Burger or a Burger! Apart from that this is beautiful place to stay."

"Just had a 3 night stay at The Old Lodge with my 7 year old son. Everything was as good as it could be, amazing room overlooking the grounds, really comfy beds, nice bathroom, everything nice and clean, staff were brilliant really friendly and professional.. we didn't eat in the evening here we ate out every night but the breakfast was lovely plenty of choice for my son... Couldn't ask for more really and Malton is a lovely little place lots of shops and pubs ... Overall I'd give The Old Lodge...
