"Had one night in a single on B&B basis while visiting family for a night out. Building is a pub in an old building with the upper rooms converted to accommodation. Although the room was small it was a masterpiece of how to use space and did. Not feel cramped in any way. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. With the property being on a main thoroughfare and a very busy pub a nice touch was the provision of earplugs. Breakfast was served in a restaurant area at the back of the pub. Unlike most hotel breakfasts you choose from a menu and it’s cooked fresh for you and was top quality. Staff were lovely, but a note of caution for nervous types there are no staff on site overnight, but a telephone number is provided in case of emergency. There is no onsite parking, but a public car park is available across the road. I travelled by train and the station is 10 minutes walk. "

The receptionists were all "doing a proper job" but the main receptionist was born to do that job. She was just lovely. The food was an added bonus."

"A very attractive, old Tudor style hotel. Great atmosphere. Absolutely charming, friendly and helpful staff. The room was smallish but adequate. Quiet and comfortable. bathroom clean. A good breakfast included. Hotel parking ( £10.00 per night) was quite a way from the hotel. "
